I feel like an idiot not having bypassed the feed wire....I had checked the connections etc and got nowhere ....never dawned on me that the cord itself could have a fault in it

I pulled the capacitor out of this and brought to a local shop this morning to have tested....it's fine. Anyone come up with any ideas? If I bring them the motor it looks like 10 days to 2 weeks.....

The Hayward model number for the pump is SP2605X7, the motor is an AO Smith C48J2N131B1 and I think the new/current Century number is UST1072

The first couple times I started it today it came on but only for a moment..barely a second. Now there is nothing. When I open the strainer I can get a finger into the impeller and it does not feel clogged and it is spinning freely. I've been over the connections - took them apart and cleaned...
