It would be easier yes and I have tried it and works great but think it would look loads cooler with a proper jet.

I am looking at buying a balboa control box to retro fit into my pool but most of the ones that are on sale are in the USA. Is there any reason why these components wont work in the uk? I know you can buy these over here but didnt know if they were made differently for the uk market?

The only thing I have to test is strips and they dont tell me cya. All its tells me is fc and ph. Fc is around 3ppm and ph is around 7.4

Ok fitted the new capacitor 4 hours ago and pump seems to be running ok so fingers crossed has sorted the problem

I am looking at buying the intex swg. I am currently using stabilized chlorine granules and thats it. If I get a swg does it deal with everything or do I need to start adding stabilizer chemicals etc? Im in the UK so not sure on availability of seperate stabilizer etc over here.

Yes just been and bought a multimeter and like you said both spade each side of the line return 0 ohms when connected together and when connecting either side of the line the reading keeps going up.

Its a run capacitor as opposed to a start capacitor so it runs all the time. Here is the old broken one Here is the replacement I have bought My only problem is the new one has no wires attatched and four spade connections of which none are labelled. My old one had 2 wires already...
