Hayward Heat Pump Pro 2 years fine - now tripping right away

I have a 6 year old HP21404T that the compressor was not running. Had an HVAC guy out today who confirmed my compressor is shot. He was surprised because everything looked brand new inside and was ok. Now my dilemma, repair at the tune of 3k or replace for 5k. The compressor warranty is 5 year...

What's going on with my coping?

My pool was built in a 2015 and I began having the same issue last year. Upon opening this year I had at least six new holes which I filled with Bondo and painted. At the time I searched the forums and found two other post with similar pitting of the aluminum coping. In those posts it was...

Rusting Walls After 1.5 years? Normal?

I feel your pain first hand. I discovered the same issue, maybe worse, with my then 3 year old pool (now in it's 5th year) manufactured by Cardinal Pools. The link to that discussion is here Steel Wall Corrosion On 3 Year Old IG Pool Of course Cardinal mfg sent a rep to inspect and take photos...

    New Acid Pump/Ph Controller

I have a basic vinyl lined IG pool, 24k gallons, nothing fancy, with a SWG. I keep my water in line with recommend TFP levels, with the pH set at 7.5 and usually go through two gallons of muriatic acid over a 4 month season. Before the CAT 1000 I was still using about the same. I do confirm the...

    Small hole in aluminum coping

Thanks Newdude! I don’t think is could have been hit with a bb as we are on a couple of acres and the angle it is on would have had to come from my house or patio and my son doesn't have a BB gun. I will fill it with expoxy and just dab a little paint on that spot. Anybody else have mysterious...

    Small hole in aluminum coping

My son was swimming this evening and pointed out a small hole in the aluminum bullnose coping on our pool. It’s about the size of a bb. The pool is only 5 years old and I can’t imagine what would cause this. Can I put some epoxy in the hole and sand and paint?

    Pool Noodles In Skimmer?

I have had a pool company close my pool for the winter since we had it built. They blow out the lines, pour anti-freeze down the skimmer and then close it off with a "Super Gizzmo". I noticed this season that there are some hair line cracks in both skimmers near the adjustable collar and on the...

    Who's Still Swimming in Maryland?

Still swimming here in Hagerstown, MD. Heat pump is keeping the pool at 85 degrees but is running quite a bit over night with the cool temperatures $$$$. Last year we closed the end of October and will probably do the same this year.

Who wants to help on automation options (Hayward...mostly)

Make sure your vs pump is compatible with the Hayward Omnihub Pool and Spa Controller by contacting their tech support with the model number, unless you already know. I was interested in that controller but it turns out my 3 year old Hayward vsp is not compatible. I would only have on/off...

Hayward Omnihub Pool and Spa Controller

I'll get out there Saturday and snap a pic, but looking at the manual for the TriStar SP3200VSP it shows the wall mount digital control interface connected to the RS485, which I am using. According to the manual, the digital input terminals on the right are used for external relay speed control...
