We had a 14x28 put in last year. The shallow end is about 40% of the length and we have a 7ft deep end for the rest. Why such a small shallow end?

The liner track on my recently installed steel wall pool is probably 3-4" wide.....so they exist wider than the 2" you mention. I can't provide details on the brand but they are white aluminium designed for paver coping.

From what I know the non-cove/bullnose based liner track will work for any non concrete deck. Meaning you shouldn't need to change out the track that is used with the stegmeier forms if you choose to go with a paver coping (assuming the stegmeier liner track from the kit was used).
