    Stenner Pump Choice

You have more 'headroom' with the bigger one. Because it runs less, you can run it longer if needed. Also, the less it is running in theory the less wear and tear.

Inconsistant CYA test results from Leslie's and other store

Re: Inconsistant CYA test results from Leslie's and other st I wouldn't place much faith in the store testing, especially CYA. I had a store tell me that that a freshly filled pool had a CYA reading of 80. Bottom line - trust the TF100. In order to keep records for my pebbletec warranty (and...

    Strange shifts in numbers

Hello all – here is a summary of my current conundrum. This is a new pool – completed in November 2012. Up until now my CH numbers have been consistent at 300-330 (using my TFT100), even though the three pool stores that I visit for monthly comparison have showed me at 230-260. Same for my...

    A confused pool owner!

Trust pool school. If you have warranty concerns the TFP method will allow you to better control the LSI which is what most warranty programs seem to emphasize, and the CSI from the poolcalculator will REALLY allow you to monitor the overall water quality. Most other references consider each of...

    Cleaning spa?

Ok - after hands on experience with the spa wand I pretty much confirm everything that is said above. A few general observations: 1) Possibly the most over engineered product ever. The debris canister is minuscule compared to the massive handle. 2) What is this made of? It looks like...

    Screenlogic missing temperature history

For anyone who may encounter this issue, it is resolved by updating / re-loading the protocol adapter. http://www.pentairpool.com/pool-owner/r ... ns-new.htm

    Stenner Pump Choice

For your enjoyment. I am a bit of an 'info geek' when analyzing these types of efforts. I hope you find the attached useful! (This was saved to XLS from XLSX for compatibility. If it is not working let me know and I can upload the XLSX version)

    Stenner Pump Choice

I would go for the 10 gallon. If you would like, I have a XLS that I can post in which you can put various settings in that will show you ppm increase with run-times etc based on the rate of the pump. I put it together for my build and found it helpful.

    Cleaning spa?

I am in the same boat - considering a Polaris Spa Wand or other suction based hand tool to get out all the little bits of pebble etc in the corners. Let me know if you have any great luck with anything and I will do the same.

    Screenlogic missing temperature history

I have a recently installed Pentair screenlogic interface which has been working fine for the past few weeks but all of a sudden is not loading any of the temp history. I just get a spinning circle (see screenshot). From searching the web it looks like some sort of query glitch but I am unable...

Pool lights added to the controller for the landscape lights?

Re: Pool lights added to the controller for the landscape li Are you using any sort of automation controller (such as pentair intellitouch, easytouch, or one of the hayward or jandy products?)

    Pool Store Testing Differences

I am in the same boat as you are - pebble tech requires monthly 'computerized' testing from a pool store. So once a month I gather my samples and visit three stores that are all within a few miles of here. Sometimes I am in and out, sometimes I hang around to discuss their proposed purchases...

    Dave in Georgia

Welcome from a recent BBB convert and TFP member! My advice for a great place to start: 1) Head on over to Pool School (upper right corner of your screen). Read, read, read! 2) Get your TF100 test kit so you know exactly what is going on in your water (links abound on this site - check out the...

Swg vs chlorine with borate vs chlorine with ozone?

Travertine would need sealing as it is pretty soft. Quartzite does not really need it but we went ahead and had the color enhancing seal added. Not that you can tell in these photos but it really enhances the color. Agreed to the chore aspect. The best comparison I saw here at TFP was to...
