Is PH the only test that is affected by high CL

Ok thanks. Yeah my usual PH is almost always around 7.5. Its very dark and way above the 8.2 so I'll wait until it drifts down before testing the PH but will test the stuff

Is PH the only test that is affected by high CL

Hi - My chlorine is at a 13 now and I want to do the full battery of tests. I know that doing PH over 10 affects the results. Are all the other tests ok to do like CYA, Salt, Alk?

Need help with leaking flexible hose

Thanks, I'll try that. I've been using these hoses for a few years and never had an issue. Any idea how these pin holes happen? I live in NY and leave them in a shed, perhaps the harsh winters make them a bit brittle? Should I store them indoors you think?

Need help with leaking flexible hose

Hi all - I have what I suspect is like a pin drop hole in my flexible hose. Every time I dry it, it gets a little wet again in this one spot. Any idea on what I can use to fill the hole? Maybe silicon? Maybe krazy glue? I don't know. It's like the 10th ridge from the top of the hose return...

    Drilling holes in ladder

Has anyone drilled some larger holes in their ladder to put bleach into? My ladder always seems to have gross green water in it when I take it every month to clean and brush. It's pretty much like this ladder, your typical A-Frame. It has some tiny holes on the steps to hold water so the...

    Pitting on liner

Also - is calcium scaling potentially dangerous for the liner that it can possible rip or tear or leak?

    Pitting on liner

Ok thanks. Will add some acid and keep it lower for a few days like you suggested then brush gently? Once it's removed what level should I bring the PH back up to?

    Pitting on liner

If I drain some of the water to lower the Calcium will that break it up as well? Since my CYA is now 60 I guess I need to target like 7 FC. Not the 10-12 I had as well.

    Pitting on liner

Interesting thoughts. Maybe you're right. Worried about the liner maybe being in danger of failing since it seems slightly brittle in those pitted spots. Yeah I do lower my water so then the Calcium should get lower as well. I'll stop using cal hypo. Maybe I should have posted in the...

    Pitting on liner

Hi All - There's various spots in my 6 year old liner that have become sort of pitted and rough. I took an underwater picture, look toward the bottom right. Is this a sign that the liner might fail and should be replaced? Also the top of the liner is starting to fade in spots to white. The...
