Pool and Spa lights not working

Current lights are Pentair Amerlite. 500 watt in the pool, 100 watt in the spa. Pool is about 41 feet long "play pool" with max depth of 6' in the middle. Spa is two tiered about 7.5 feet in diameter. Total water volume is around 40,000 gallons. I also had the builder run conduit for future...

Pool and Spa lights not working

Howdy all! We put our pool in back in the early 90's, and the lights have finally crapped out. The spa light actually bit the dust a few years back, but we didn't care... wink wink. The pool light finally bit the dust this spring. Flipped it on after the winter, and it was pretty dim, then just...

HELP!! I'm in Dallas and my pool is still down waiting for parts and service; how to circulate the water

Howdy all. Yes, I'm yet another victim of the big freeze down here in Texas. You know the story; we have a cracked pump body, multiple ruined valves and pipes. Have some of the parts to replace, but still waiting on others. Looks like it'll be at least a couple more weeks until there is any...

Texas Poolmageddon Victim Need Equipment Recs

Howdy all. I'm another of the victims of bureaucratic incompetence in Texas last week, and am looking at immense pool equipment damage. If they'd have told us they were going to shut down our electricity for several days in below freezing temp, I'd have just drained it all and been done with it...

Backwash valve collars broken - any options to replacing the whole valve?

Have been trying to get in touch with Pentair, to ask about this, but looks like they actually make a replacement union set that would work for this. Just need to get the old glued PVC parts on the backwash filter separated. Any thoughts??

Backwash valve collars broken - any options to replacing the whole valve?

Hello all, have a problem that's been brewing for a year or so that I now need to fix. See attached image. A pool "professional" cracked both collars attaching the filter to the backwash valve while he was cleaning the filter a while back. I typically do my own work, but was traveling a lot, so...

How the heck do I connect a 2" backwash hose to a 2" pvc backwash hose???

Re: How the heck do I connect a 2" backwash hose to a 2" pvc backwash hose??? Hey Josh, as I recall, I used pool lube and lots of swearing to get the blue hose on last time ;). The cheap hose rotted out in a year, so bought the Gorilla backwash hose from Amazon - kinda like a fire hose, so was...

How the heck do I connect a 2" backwash hose to a 2" pvc backwash hose???

Re: How the heck do I connect a 2" backwash hose to a 2" pvc backwash hose??? Thanks Dean, do you have to glue this in, or do the barbs secure it to the inside of the PVC pipe? Would certainly pipe clamp the flex hose, but wondering how the plastic bit stays in the hard, slick PVC pipe....

How the heck do I connect a 2" backwash hose to a 2" pvc backwash hose???

Hello all, I'm a long time pool owner, and treat it like a kid or a pet. Chemistry and maintenance are always in good shape, so I'm kind of embarrassed to ask this.... My stainless separation tank has bit the dust for the second time, so I'm cutting it out of the system and just doing a backwash...
