    Dave s I thought that I had cracked the original valve ( 4 yrs old maybe ) by over tightening it, so I purposely only hand tightened replacement(s)

    Thanks for the input guys. Rectorseal 5 (yellow stuff) does in fact say NOT for use with abs. Im not sure if I overlooked that or if I thought I had cpvc. I cant find what if any effect it has on abs, but I cant imagine it would weaken it, at least not so quickly. I recently replumbed pool pad...

    I need some advise. My plaster is a week and half old, water is crystal clear, and is well balanced(ph keeps rising, but that's typical with new plaster, right?) My problem is I keep getting stains from organics falling into pool (leaves, bird droppings). Is this normal?

    Nps (national pool supply?) & walmart both sell 10% liquid chlorine (bleach) for about $6.50 per 2 gal. which is probably the best deal you're going to find. (Leslie's probably has the same deal). walmart sells borax but you might have to hunt around, I just cleaned out the one by my house at...
