What to do when can't run pump for five weeks?

I have a unique problem. My electricity has been off for a week and will be off for another four week. My electricity transformer burned out and it takes five weeks to replace it in Tanzania :grrrr: I got a generator yesterday but the maximum I can run it is for 4 hours every other day. When...

Install spa light with no leaks

Hi, My contractors made a hole on the side of the pool (concrete surface) to install the light. It is not sealed properly so there is a leak. Does anyone know how to manage this- is there a sealant that expands, such as foam-like spray? Any ideas welcome. See photos attached. Thanks

I live in Africa with limited pool resources. I can buy stabilizer but I have no way to test for cyanuric acid. In a few months I can get a test kit from the USA but I need to know how much stabilizer to add today. Attached is the well water I used to fill the pool. Since then I have added...

can't get calcium above 175 ppm

I am using Taylor Technologies K-1770 Drop Test, Hardness-Calcium I bought off Amazon.com (see here). I also had the local water authority run the test -- not sure how they do it.

can't get calcium above 175 ppm

Thank you for the quick reply. The pool is 70 to 75 degrees. I am in Africa so there is always a question about the quality of things you buy. I bought the calcium chloride from a reputable supplier so I assume it is good. It did manage to raise the ppm from 55 to 175 so it did something.

can't get calcium above 175 ppm

Hi, I have a new pool with poolcrete plaster. The manufacture recommends a calcium level of 300 to 400 ppm. I added a huge amount of calcium chloride and the calcium level seems to stop at 175 ppm (enough to raise it over 300 ppm). As I add more calcium chloride it seems to all just go to...
