That is exactly how my plumber told me to do it. That is exactly how Pentair says to do it in the manual. The only water that will drain is the minimal amount of rain and when you first turn on and turn off the stream.

My water depth is 19" and the bubblers come out of the water 6 or 7 inches. Obviously, shallower the water, the higher the plume.

My designer used Ammtec. They charged $250 for the pool and $100 for my grotto. I am not sure if that is in your budget. PoolEng is another resource.

I went the Owner/Builder route, so I figured I should show the finished product. All said and done, my pool cost me ~$49,000. Had I gone with a builder, it would have been between $60,000 and 75,000. If you are in the Phoenix area, I recommend going OB as all of the subs are the same guys...

Seems pretty insane to me. For half of that you can use BYOP.net which is in your area. Heck,$2000 was too much for me, so I wen the OB route.

Any guess on how much you saved, being your own builder and hiring subs directly?

Cities will be different, but I know City of Phoenix specifically states that window locks with thumbscrews are not allowed. The same thing with a hex screw will be just fine. So silly.

How long was the cure time for your shotcrete?

Glad to hear another success story for BYOP. If you started talking to them back in 2013, that would be back when it was $995 for a custom pool design. That same package is now $1995. From what everyone has told me, Todd would probably bend on price to get your equipment business.

Okay, so I am in your exact situation. I know what pool I want to build, I am very familiar with the process. I have a list of subs already vetted by DIYers here on TFP that have shared them with me. Paying $2000 is a bit much if all they really are going to do for me is make a pool design...

your PB should simply remove the wrong labeled plaster and send the bill to the manufacturer.

According to this: http://byop.monomythstudio.com/assurance/ they are extending Pentair warranties to 5 years. If that is the case, and they cover labor as well, that is a great deal to use BYOP. Even with the price increase, that is a deal.
