First test results on swim spa using TF100

Just did my first set of tests on the swim spa: FC-0 TA-190 (this was an estimate because it never turned red, just purple) CH-225 CYA-40 pH-7.5 I added 8 oz of 8.25% bleach, ran the pumps & filters, and retested 30 minutes later with the following results: FC-2.5 CC-0.5 TA-150-200 (when do...

New swim spa in drought stricken So Cal

Thanks again, chem geek. Can't wait to get my TF-100 that I ordered today. I really want to get this under control without relying on the local pool store and their questionable advice.

    Swim spa: pool or spa?

I ordered the TF-100 test kit today - does it include the MPS elimination test? I don't see the MPS elimination test as an individual test that can be purchased separately. Thanks for the feedback!

    Swim spa: pool or spa?

Thanks for the feedback! I'm going to have to wait for my new test kit before I can attempt to get FC, CYA, TA, and pH in the proper ranges. All I've got right now is test strips. As for the CYA, I know it was too high (133 ppm according to the local pool store test) and the water was cloudy. I...

    Swim spa: pool or spa?

Supposedly the swim spa comes standard with an ozonator. But I have no idea where it is, or how to tell if it is operating properly. I do use MPS once a week per the manufacturer's suggestion. Does UV exposure contribute to killing bacteria, etc? Thanks for the response!

New swim spa in drought stricken So Cal

Thanks, chem geek. Appreciate the input. I'm going to have to figure out what the amount of bleach I need to use for "every day or two maintenance" of FC once I get my test kit. The test strips are hard to read for me, and from what I've read, they aren't very precise. From what I've read...

    Swim spa: pool or spa?

I am a newbie (have had the swim spa for 3 months) and just getting set up in TFP. I have a swim spa that stays covered when not in use. I use it ~4 times/week, 1-2 hours per use. Since I exercise in it, sweat and saliva are probably a consideration (TMI?). The temperature is usually around...

New swim spa in drought stricken So Cal

We decided to add a swim spa to our small back yard this year. I am an avid swimmer and wanted an option that didn't involve going to the local pool. I've been "lurking" on TFP for a few days, and I see a lot of posts about pools, and a lot of posts on spas. The swim spa seems to be a hybrid...
