Intex Ultra Frame installed on grass only for seasonal use

So, after 2 seasons have come and gone, I figure it might be helpful for me to post an update for others doing the same route of seasonal install on top of grass. Here are some of the details of my journey and what I have experienced and learned. Year #1 (2013) Using a water level, I measured...

PVC Tray Holder For Intex Metal Frame Pool (I Should Patent This!)

Without any disrespect to Mr. Beens, here is my version of the tray/shelf/rack thing. Thank you for inspiring many of us to do a similar project. Using yours as the main example, my biggest issue was getting a fit around the larger Ultra frame. It seems that your pipe fitting is nearly...

what does High/Low Ph do to your skin?

I'm going to bump this old thread only because I found it such an interesting read - thanks for the info! I usually use acid to lower my pH to around 7.2-7.4 and it creeps up on me. I was away and now my water is 8.2 and I forgot to pick up more acid so I'm all out. It is 104 degrees out so...

PVC Tray Holder For Intex Metal Frame Pool (I Should Patent This!)

Great little doo-hicky! You've done a fine job. If it were me, I'd drill some holes in the bottom of the tray and afix it with zip ties. Of course you would lose the functionality of the removeable tray - I bring my beverages and goodies out to the pool loose anyways.

Pumping saltwater through a Softub motor: how bad is it?

That is true and the beauty of the set up. My Softub maintains its 100 degree temperature by automatically running a few hours a day. This adds about $5 per month to my electricity bill. For over 2 years, no one has been is the tub, and all the while it has maintained the preset 100 degree temp...

Pumping saltwater through a Softub motor: how bad is it?

I don't read much about pools and spas, but I have heard several times that you only run saltwater through proper saltwater equipment. How about a Softub? Are all of the internals plastic? Hear's the background: I might be getting rid of my working Softub. I have a crazy idea of using the motor...

Draining saltwater pool water in yard plants

swg-the-environment-t1021.html Thank you. Sounds plenty safe and my yard will be getting 5000 gallons of pool water irrigation pretty soon.

Draining saltwater pool water in yard plants

I will be draining 5000 gallons of healthy pool water (normal salt levels). Will water cause any harm to normal grass and plants?

    How long will this take??

Well, the time it takes for ground leveling and deck building can vary greatly depending on many factors. Once the ground is set, figure 1/2 for light prep and pool assembly (can still vary based on your site and possible flooring). Filling with water (start immediately could take 1/2 day to 1...

    Moles...

After a few weeks, I thought I'd give an update. Previously my thought was to try everything except for traps because I wasn't too excited about digging up larger holes and chasing down changing tunnels. Well, now after trying everything else, I'm happy to say that the traps have been working...

    Hot tub to heat pool?

I may not have the best solution for the OP, but I'm interested in this topic. Allow me to toot the horn of Softub a bit. When I was hot tub shopping and researching, I decided on Softub for power efficiency. Most hot tubs use gas or 220v electricity and are power hungry to use. Softub is quite...

New here- questions about leveling intex pool

Ply will still rot some and the seasonal up and down will cause the breakdown of the wood to be quicker than your shed floor who ch always remains unmoved. Depending on thickness and other factors, it could last for a number of years. Or, you can go with thin ply and plan on trashing it. 8" out...

BBQ grill cover and UV protection

Thanks for the responses. A canopy or pergola would not work where the bbq is and instead I have one on a different section of the patio. The placement is fine and it really doesn't get too hot to bbq. By mid-afternoon a regular breeze kicks in taming the heat. In fact, the chair covers under...

BBQ grill cover and UV protection

I live is California's hot climate and my BBQ island grill is in an area of constant direct sunlight. The custom tight fitting cover is 2 months old, black in color, and supposedly made of quality materials for outdoor use. I hope I'm wrong, but I expect it to fade soon and maybe last 2 years...
