Pentair Screenlogic wireless system (adapter+indoor&outdoor antennas) intermittent failures, heat overloading the circuit board?

Good idea, my husband is an engineering guy, so he thinks he can possibly remount it with a heat shield between it and the metal panel box its mounted to. Its on the back side of the main panel box, facing the house. This is FOR SURE the problem, because now that its cool…. No problems at all...

Pentair Screenlogic wireless system (adapter+indoor&outdoor antennas) intermittent failures, heat overloading the circuit board?

Yes, its in the full sun. Its working tonight when it cooled off, and checking the exterior transciever, it shows steady power light, and intermittent blinking of the TX & RX. Seems fine, and the same as the interior transceiver. MUST be the heat shutting it down. Wonder if i could wrap it...

Pentair Screenlogic wireless system (adapter+indoor&outdoor antennas) intermittent failures, heat overloading the circuit board?

Hi Jim R. Yes, you are correct. When the RX and TX lights are blinking they are trying to transmit. When they connect, they seem to intermittently blink also, so that’s a bit confusing, but a good sign that they are receiving and transmitting. The PWR light should be on steadily when...

Pentair Screenlogic wireless system (adapter+indoor&outdoor antennas) intermittent failures, heat overloading the circuit board?

Hi! Thanks for your reply. Yes QTSOOOOLINK is the FCC:ID. I don’t have an IR thermometer or camera to check the temp, unfortunately. When it is connected, PWR light is solid, and RX and TX are blinking, at least on the inside transmitter. Will check what the lights on the outside...

Pentair Screenlogic wireless system (adapter+indoor&outdoor antennas) intermittent failures, heat overloading the circuit board?

Happy September Pool experts! I have had intermittent failures of my wireless control system now for about a year and a half. I’ve had a pentair serviceman out, (he got it working for a short time) and weeks later spent 30 minutes on the phone with pentair, and it still fails intermittently...

COVERFREE usage for evaporation control in CA

COVERFREE UPDATE: It’s been 3 weeks of use, and so far with temperatures heating up here in CA, there has been minimal water savings with the COVERFREE. I am saving possibly a minute a day (at best) on my pool filler. We calculated roughly 12 g/min output from our pool filler, and our water...

COVERFREE usage for evaporation control in CA

Yes, hard to quantify the result, but I figure if i can reduce the time incrementally on my pool filler, there will be some gain. If I can’t reduce time on the pool filler, then not worth it. I will post my thoughts in a few weeks of use.

COVERFREE usage for evaporation control in CA

Thanks for your reply. Yes, it’s orange. I had a bubble cover once, but taking it on and off, keeping it clean and storing it somewhere, plus just the look of it on my pool was not good. We have Santa Ana winds here, which can pick it up and next thing ya know, its over the neighbors fence….I...

COVERFREE usage for evaporation control in CA

Thought i would start a new thread here, as most regarding Coverfree were pretty dated. Here in Ventura County CA we have new water restrictions that require covering your pool when not in use to prevent evaporation. This is not an option for me, so i bought the COVERFREE, going to see if it...

New VRXiQ+ Polaris pool robot - initial impressions

Called Polaris re: the cleaning of the Baja reef. The guy confirmed that it will work in my 10” Baja, but could not answer why it will not add it to the main mapping of the pool. Apparently it only maps from the bottom of the pool, and cannot see the shallower side of my L. The Polaris rep...

New VRXiQ+ Polaris pool robot - initial impressions

So got the VRXiQ+ from Leslies and dropped it in. Pretty easy to get it online and it seems to be doing its thing in start-up mode. Since I have an L shaped Pool, and one half of the L is basically Baja shelf, does anyone have any tips on getting the robot to recognize the shelf section of my...

New VRXiQ+ Polaris pool robot - initial impressions

Thanks for your detailed review, and lovely pics. We are putting in an L shaped pool also, with large tanning shelf and spa on one leg of the L. It surrounds my covered outdoor patio. I am going to purchase the VRXiQ+ from Leslies, as they have service (just in case) I understand. The pool...
