    Hayward cross-border Warranty question

Hello all, I'm looking to replace my salt cell this year. I'm located in Canada. If I purchase from the U.S, will I have any issues with the Manufacturer's warranty from Hayward?

Aquarite reading low salt even though salt is high

Alright, so salinity is measured by temp, voltage, and amperage. This cell still generates and when it does the voltage/amp readings appear normal so what about meddling with the temp sensor? If you were to lock the temperature at at higher reading, couldn't you fool the system into higher...

Aquarite reading low salt even though salt is high

Tried cleaning the cell twice and still won't read the salt level correctly, although it's still capable of generating chlorine. However it will only generate after I recalibrate it but this ends up being a temp fix because the next day the reading will fall below 2300 and it shuts itself off...

Aquarite reading low salt even though salt is high

The serial # on my cell reads 5E0506**********. Am I correct that these first digits mean 5 year warranty, manufactured 05, 2006? If that's right then this unit is 6 years old. How can I be sure this isn't a problem with the board? The cell is still generating.

Aquarite reading low salt even though salt is high

Hello All, I'm having a problem with my Aquarite and I'm about to leave on vacation in a couple of days! Great timing! It's registering a low salt content. This morning it got as low as 2300ppm. I've been adding salt over the past couple of weeks thinking I was getting low but when I took a...

Water loss. Left waterfall on overnight.

Hello all, I woke up this morning thinking I was going to have an overflowing pool given the heavy rain we got last night. Instead I lost several inches of water. Water was barely getting into the skimmer. Now yesterday we had a pool party and I turned on the waterfall, and at the end of the...

UPDATE -safe to swim? Worst Pool Store Ever!

Re: Worst Pool Store Ever! I've gone to two pool stores in my area and I know that one of the two I can rely on for fairly accurate results. They're an honest shop and they never try to up sell me on anything and I don't feel pushed to make any purchases. The other store is a completely...

    This site is awesome!

I too love this site. This is my first year owning a pool and thanks to the help on this site, I have sparkling clear water. I don't yet have a good test kit, as they are expensive in Canada and hard to come by, so I'm relying on some Taylor Test strips (which seem to be pretty decent actually)...

    Cleaning an SWG cell

Thanks for the input. It's quite possible the cell isn't as old as the pool, but I failed to mention that I also have a central water softening system at home, which is the source for my pool, so I gather this is aiding in prolonging the life of the cell. I think I will put off the acid-clean...

    Cleaning an SWG cell

Hello all, This is my first year owning a pool. Thanks to all your help I now have crystal clear water and have gotten familiar with all the equipment. One thing I wanted to do was inspect my salt cell. Given the overall neglect around the house/property, I was convinced the cell had never...

    Hayward H250 troubles

Thanks. Finding alternate switches shouldn't be a problem, just not sure if they would be the same size, as to fit in the existing slot.

    Hayward H250 troubles

It turns out it's a faulty on/off switch, so a relatively simple fix. I bypass the switch and it fires up every time. Thanks for the help. I haven't been able to find an online distributor in Canada for the part, so I'll check with my local pool store.

    Bees and yellow jackets!!!

Hi all, I've been noticing quite a few dead honey bees around my yard, mostly near the pool. Could the pool water be killing them? I don't mind honey bees generally, so I'd rather not harm them if I can avoid it. I had my interlocking stone resealed this week, so maybe the sealant? I sprayed...

    Hayward H250 troubles

Hello all, I having some trouble with my Hayward H250 millivolt heater. It worked the first day the pool was opened, about 3 weeks ago, but I haven't turned it on since I tried again yesterday. The pilot is on but the main burner won't come on. I turn the switch to "on" and turn up the...

    Pool Opening dragging..

I'm new to pools and this year was my first pool opening, however it seems to me that sand filters do take some time to clear out the water. I started out with a swampy mess and was cloudy blue after 5 days or so. Well, I'm finally seeing the deep end and I'm 3 days shy of 3 weeks since...
