Remote Heater and Pump Activation using Shelly

Thanks! You are right about the bypass, I thought it was a toss up. I have only ever used the bypass early in the spring when it was too cold for the SWG, which I do take out in the winter (which is why dressing that cable is a waste of time). Hopefully I never have a problem with that heater.....

Remote Heater and Pump Activation using Shelly

First, a few pics of the re-plumbed equipment pad. I bought and installed the heater last month, which required rerouting the pipes, and I added a bypass, because, why not. If you ever find yourself needing to reuse a valve or 2, get a Reed Tool Extreme Ream. Gold. Then, I didn't like...

    Taming the green beast

HAHA! Yes - Yes I am! Actually I think I have been getting more 'stuff' in the water than I realized while pressure washing around the deck. I didn't wash any more this weekend, and it stayed clean. But I certainly don't mind the help with regular maintenance.

    Taming the green beast

The wife vacuumed it up again on Friday night and it hasn't been back. Proving that I don't know how to use the vacuum, just like she said. I deep cleaned the filter sand while I had the pipes cut open on Saturday to install the SWG. It didn't really need cleaning, but that's pretty low...

    Taming the green beast

So, I think the slam is done. The water is nice and clear. Looks better than any pool I've been in. Time to let the FC drop and start dumping in some salt this weekend. But I have this issue, which I now realize is very difficult to see in the photo. And the photo makes the water seem cloudy...

    Taming the green beast

In the interest of a quick update, the water looked really great last night. Did a little more vaccuming, then I decided to take the lights out of the niches just to see what might be hiding in there. It was terrifying. Green clouds and long snakes of green slime. I panicked a little, and...
