By wraps do you mean times around? Maybe that's where the confusion is. When I said wraps, I meant layers. It was probably twice as many times around.

Well so far I've tried 1, 2, and 3 wraps and I've gotten leaks with all three. It is a new male adapter going into the pump. This is frustrating What about using the teflon that comes in a tube? I'm thinking of trying that next.

hmmmmm. I put two layers on and it didn't come close to tightening down all the way. I might try one, but then I'm worried it might not seal.

How many times do you wrap teflon tape around a male connector? Or how many layers I should say. thanks

Maybe soapy isn't the right word. Maybe slippery is a better word. If you splash, the bubbles stay longer than normal too. Maybe that's why I used the word soapy. The water is actually crystal clear. I've only been feeling/seeing this since I put the borax in the pool. Hmmmmm. I wonder if...

That's encouraging to hear. I was totally bumbed when I first powered it on and saw the bubbles and saw the big increase in pressure. My old pump was 1 HP with SF of 1. This new one is 3/4 HP with SF of 1.67. I'm assuming the new one will use more electricity, right? I'm going to try...

The pressure is 14 PSI on the pump. The filter is working great! The water is clearer than ever.

The filter pressure is 14PSI. It was 9 PSI before I put the new pump on.
