    Newbie Questions

Not an island expert, but i know studwork. If using wood studs, look for those new "plastic" type used on many new decks. they will last much longer than even the treated wood studs. Because an island is much smaller than a wall, 16" between studs is normal, you may want to use 12". Note that...

    plaster today, chance of rain?

They should probably wait, however, once the plaster is down even, in the first minute, its good to go. We start filling the pool the moment the well is troweled. we cover the hose with cloths and run at 3/4 pressure. But, if all the gunite is saturated with water, waiting is best.

What is it with me and IC20?

Looks like you are the "end user" - that should qualify you as the "Owner" of this cell. Send it back, Pentair is a Great company, I am 90% sure they will replace it, fix it, whatever. Higher TDS levels can cause more problems than high CYA

Split off of this topic because there are controversial subjects here that will be distracting in that topic. JasonLion In addition to all the good advise above, please note that CYA tests, in our industry, are our least accurate. Mainly due to the individual tester. the sample should be...

A quick review of Polaris models from a Polaris Mechanic

Also, These cleaners are like little cars, they need repairs now and then. They can be repaired at very little cost. extending their life to 15+ years!!! you wouldn't expect your car to last 10+ years without an oil change. Seek repairing your current model before buying a new one! Tim

A quick review of Polaris models from a Polaris Mechanic

I work on all Polaris models, and have so for 18 years. I will be brief: models 180 & 280 (2 wheel drive with a transfer wheel) Well made units with the oldest "drive" system. the bearings wear out quickly causing the front and single side wheels to loose their camber, or become "wobbley"...
