Aquarite Chlorine Generator vs Prologic PLP4 Pack?

Thanks so much for the reply. I had suspected I needed slmething closer to 60K but wasn't sure if that rule applied to the Hayward products as well. I'll probably go with the Pentair as they've been in business a long time and the piece of mind adds value for me.

Aquarite Chlorine Generator vs Prologic PLP4 Pack?

Hi, I've got an existing 38,000 gallon in-ground pool in southern New England. The current pump is a Hayward Super pump 2. We are going to put in a salt water generator this season and are considering adding a heater and two-speed pump next year. The Aquarite 40K ( Goldline Controls AquaRite...

    DIY lawn care? Anyone?

Came to second this. There are some parallels to pool care too. Sending out samples to understand your soil chemistry, etc. Great place to start.

Fixing a leaking underground Pipe without excavating

I know this is an old thread but I wanted to Bump it to see if anybody had tried Pipes Down Under? As I close in on a return as the source of my leak I'm considering it as an option. Also, It seems to me this solution wouldn't work for the skimmers as the pipe would get sucked closed. Does...

PJD's 2012 Leak Detection Thread: Loosing 1" every 24h hours

Re: PJD's 2012 Leak Detection Thread: Loosing 1" every 24h h Ok, thanks, I'll give that a go. I may wait till after the fourth, I'd like to keep it clear for the holiday then dive back into it. I used the search function but I don't see much for how to find a leak in the return line. Any...

Best pipe to replace underground water pipe?

How are you able to be sure that's where your leak is? I only mention it because my brother, father and I were "sure" we knew where my leak was. We busted up the concrete and it wasn't there. I'm trying to be much more methodical to avoid this again. Remember; this could be you:

    Great Escape 12.5% bleach $2.50 a gallon

Ah, I understand. Maybe using a bucket with freshwater and more carefully measured bleach would be easier. Still time consuming.

PJD's 2012 Leak Detection Thread: Loosing 1" every 24h hours

Re: PJD's 2012 Leak Detection Thread: Loosing 1" every 24h h I didn't run the main drain with the skimmer plugged, here was my rational: Pump off, returns/skimmers plugged, main drain not plugged - no loss Skimmer and returns on, main drain valve shut off but not blocked at the bottom of the...

PJD's 2012 Leak Detection Thread: Loosing 1" every 24h hours

Re: PJD's 2012 Leak Detection Thread: loosing 1" every 24hou Ok, here's where I'm at 24 hours with everything plugged (except the main drain) no loss Skimmer and returns running only - 1 inch in 24 hours Skimmer, returns and main drain - 1 inch in 24 hours Is my next step to pressure test? If...

PJD's 2012 Leak Detection Thread: Loosing 1" every 24h hours

Re: PJD's 2012 Leak Detection Thread Thanks for the reply guys. I plugged the returns and skimmers and left it for 24 hours and had no real loss. I opened up the returns and skimmers and turned on the skimmers BUT NOT the main drain and ran for 24 hours and lost an inch. I have just opened...

PJD's 2012 Leak Detection Thread: Loosing 1" every 24h hours

Hey Folks, So I've got a serious leak in my pool. The pool was built around 1980 using what i think is a somewhat unusual design. I haven't seen another like it anyway. It's gunite on the bottom with a steel/concrete reinforced fiberglass wall. In any event, I've plugged the skimmers and...

New Pool Build - League City, Houston, Texas

Yes exactly. Getting a sense for where things are run, what type of lines are used, how deep etc. All can be valuable if you stay in the home a long time.
