is it bad to go too low on the TA? i guess i'll be adding it back with the borax soon enough, just don't want to do badness to the liner, pump, filter, or plumbing in the meantime...

OK, another question then.... Is there a point where one can't raise the pH with aeration? i.e. is there a lower limit to dropping the TA? I managed to get the TA down to 80, and the pH was at 7.2, so i kept aerating, and now the TA is 70 and the pH just won't budge above 7.2 after aerating...

thanks to all of you for reassuring me. it seems like the FC is holding fine at the moment, so i think i'll just sit tight, monitor daily for the next bit and see what happens. the early part of the summer, when the water was crystal clear, and i hadn't yet experienced the mustard algae bloom...

so, what is a "better" TA range?? most of my sources seem to suggest 80-120, and 140 doesn't seem too far off that. am i better off with a value nearer 80?
