Initially, I thought the variable speed pump would be happier with power 24/7 since it has a clock, timer, and controller. I was not sure if would remember the speeds and times if the power was removed.

Is running through the Goldline a better option? To me, it seems like it would be. The features that I loose by the pump not having power all the time, like freeze protection, will be handled by the Goldline. Thanks. Phillip
