Well so far so good... the DE hasn't shot back into the pool (I made sure to do it while the panels were running as well so the flow was a little slower through the filter). Didn't get any PSI increase after almost 4 cups of DE so I just left it and hope it will start catching those minute...

Okay. Picking up a bag tonight.. I'll do a thorough cleaning and DE charging over the weekend and see how it fairs out..

I'll give that a shot, but these symptoms appear all year round. Wouldn't the stuff eventually get captured as the sand filter starts to be more efficient with stuff piling on top of the sand? I'll try this. I'll put some DE in, and then do a thorough vacuum and backwash.. presumably that...

Oh..I would have thought it was perhaps too big, leaving more room for things to get through. I'm going to take a sample to my local small pool guy and see if I can compare to regular silica pool sand... Love having a pool but I guess it was a great big assumption on my part that the pool...

Okay..so finally the maple trees have stopped dropping oodles and oodles of seeds into the pool. I also finally got my new solar cover so that helped a lot as well to keep a lot of the darn things out of the pool.. Anyone know how to roll off a solar cover without dumping all the garbage back...
