Help figuring out turnover rate for my pool

I've also been running mine for two hours daily for the past year and that seems to work well in the summer. But if I can cut back on that I wouldn't mind. Prior to that I ran it for about four hours daily based on rather general advice from the people who set the pump up. It was delivered sort...

Help figuring out turnover rate for my pool

I did read that, but I believe it would help me determine the run time if I could know how long it takes to cycle the water once. Electricity is very expensive here (we have a monopoly utility essentially, that raises rates whenever it wants) and I need to figure the run time accurately. In...

Help figuring out turnover rate for my pool

I've read through the Jandy FAQs and looked at much of the related material in Pool School, but I cannot figure out how to arrive at how long it takes my pump to cycle through the pool water one time. Can anyone help me with a simple formula? I don't know the size of the PVC pipes but...

    Trying to choose heat pump

Thanks. I do not understand all the electricity and electronic verbiage. I've had trouble getting through all the different ways these things are measured. If that pump is really big I might scale it down a bit since my pool is so small.

Thoughts on electric heaters and heat pumps?

Thanks for all the info. Pool cover is closed all the time unless we are in the pool. Any product recommendations? Or suggestions on how powerful a pump I would need?

Thoughts on electric heaters and heat pumps?

Last year I purchased a Jandy propane-powered heater for my pool. It did the job heat-wise but it cost me a fortune in propane costs. I am looking into converting to solar for my whole house, partly because it would be more affordable to keep the pool warm for more of the year. Winter air here...

Cover on top of a cover??? Want to retain the heat.

This might seem odd...I just spent a lot of $$ on a pool heater so I could swim year round. I would like to retain as much of that expensive heat as I can. I have a built-in motorized pool cover that I love but I'm wondering if there is something I could lay down on top of it to hold the warmth...

    Decanting acid--what to use

I have a small-ish pool and when I need to add muriatic acid, I usually only need to add a cup or three. I've been using measuring cups from my kitchen (and washing them thoroughly afterward!). There must be a better decanter for acid, one that would both make it easy to measure out from the...
