Still green after shock, floc, and pool first-aid?

+1. My pool is dang near clear just from letting the filter clean it out. However, my wife and I wouldn't be here of we didnt have our Taylor Test Kit. Check Amazon.com and get it yesterday. It will help you more than you know. I already need refills on FC droplets! OP

FC loss is only like 2 ppm overnight.

Yes yes, I need to relax and let it filter. But it is getting bluer and bluer!

Thanks for the advice guys. Here is what I looked at yesterday morning! It actually looks milky blue this morning. Obviously I have a new problem, the cloudiness. Should I just try to vacuum a couple times a day or filter it out or what? Is there a secret grocery store item like the BBB method...

I will worry about CH later. I just want to see some progress with the algae first.

The way we did the math, enough grocery store bleach (gsb) at 8% to raise FC to 30ppm (shock level according to Taylor test kit) would take 7 gallons (around 40$). Or I could have purchased 7 lbs of 70% calcium hypochlorite, with the same effect for $30.

No luck at lowes for bleach stronger than 8%. So we went to leslies and got 13 one lb bags of 70% calcium hypochlorite. We got home and mixed 7 lbs of 70% calcium hypochlorite (power powder plus) in a bucket and dumped it in. Here are the numbers: FC-24 ppm CC-3 ppm PH-8 (currently adding pH...

Well guys I would love to add chlorine and test hourly, but I have this thing called a "full time job". I test when I can and will add the chlorine when I get home tonight and follow the process as best I can. The info in the water test kit has helpful information regarding shocking and how...
