Vinyl liner replacement and concrete repair

Hey, I appreciate the need for pictures if I am asking for advice for what to do about it but I am asking for references to companies that do pool construction and repair. There is a rip in the liner where the wall meets the floor and the condition of the liner there (completely faded pattern...

Vinyl liner replacement and concrete repair

I am going to have my pool vinyl liner replaced and hopefully get a sagging section of my concrete pool deck repaired. My pool is in central NJ. Has anyone had any experiences with companies in the area for these types of repairs (good or bad)? The damaged deck area is right next to the pool...

About to close; just found crack in vinyl liner

I may have. Put the third patch, for the edges of the original patch, on Oct 28. At my point of reference, the water depth was 10" before. Now it is about 10 7/8" after we got .85-.88 inches of rain. I'm going to miss the polar plunges.

About to close; just found crack in vinyl liner

Didn't see the sand bag suggestion until I had patched it, and patched the patch edges in several spots. I'll keep it in mind if additional patching is warranted. I lost 9" of water overnight before I could get a patch kit. Would you suggest I not refill any water to avoid increasing the...

About to close; just found crack in vinyl liner

I don't but I guess I can rent one at a scuba shop. Can't believe the timing.

About to close; just found crack in vinyl liner

While getting the pool ready to close, I found a crack where the wall meets the floor in the shallow end. It is about 2 inches long and maybe 1/16" wide in the middle. Is it feasible to let it go until spring? The pool water temperature is below 60 and getting in the pool is not appealing...

    Salt Level is high

Yes, the generator panel shows it is working so I won't drain. If anything, I have to keep cutting back on the output knob and filter time to bring the chlorine level down. I'll get to work on the TA and CYA levels. Other than these minor issues, I'm really enjoying not having to put in new...

    Replacing Booster Pump bearings

Thanks, Rooterman. I'll give it a go in a few days and report back.

    Replacing Booster Pump bearings

I have a very loud booster pump. From looking over several old messages, the main suspect in these cases is the bearings. However, I couldn't find any messages regarding successful fixes. Can anyone tell me if replacing the bearings is on the same difficulty level as replacing a pump seal...

New Merlin SmartMesh Safety Cover held puddles of water in offseason

Thanks, Newdude. I hope it isn't solid since I paid for the top of the line mesh cover. :/ Maybe it does sag more. If there isn't any other resolution to the issue by the end of the season, I'll try tightening the straps a little. And maybe older covers start to drain a little faster after...

New Merlin SmartMesh Safety Cover held puddles of water in offseason

I replaced my old Merlin SmartMesh Safety Cover last fall with a new one. From what I remember, the old cover held very little water on top after a rain, a few drops, then they were gone. This cover seems to hold large puddles for several hours to a couple of days on top of the cover in a...

    Salt Level is high

I converted to a SWCG at the beginning of the year. It was installed by a local company (I frequent their pool supply store). The installer put in 16 40 lb bags of salt which would seem to be about the right amount if I didn't already have sodium in the water. The level ended up at about 4400...

    Leaking from pump area

Yay! I dropped the gasket lid on the basement floor and broke it! Cha-ching.

    Leaking from pump area

I opened it up and the housing gasket and diffusar gasket are both compromised. I had replaced them last year or the year before. How long do they generally last? Since I already bought the seal, I'm going to replace that too.

    Leaking from pump area

I was afraid of that. It is a Hayward Super Pump SP2610X15(2S). Maybe I got some contaminant on it. I've used up my upload quota.
