Pool Build in Costa Blanca Spain.

We had an eventful winter - first heavy snow in 40 yrs destroyed my Gazebo So I spent Easter replacing the main Gazebo and thought what the heck and added another. Had our first air bnb guests and everything was well received. All shaping up nicely.

How long did your tile take?

Probably doesn't answer your question but here in Europe they are used to tiling the complete pool. Mine took 3 days start to finish. Four guys turned upon Friday finished on Sunday to add to the job heavy rain in the week before effected our mains water supply (leak in road about 1K away...

Thanks for the positive comments. Re the floor - the external walls were built on the existing terracing walls which were built with a pool in mind for the future. The side walls had foundations poured in. This pic may show it more clearly. Seems to be holding up so far.....:swim:

Up and running but work still in progress The pool is now up and running and I have had my first swim. 200Kg of salt arrived together with the activated glass for the filter. I feel I may have been slightly undersold on the quantity of salt by the contractor but he assured me it was enough...

I forgot to post these pics of the pool tile sheets This is the side to stick to the wall and this is the side with the paper protective layer that is soaked and removed once the tile adhesive has cured a day after fixing. I am happy with the finished product. Pool was filled yesterday...

Yes both neighboring villas have pools. We are actually the last villa (bar one) on our urbanization (about 30 villas) to have a pool! I never put one in before as I was hardly ever here and didn't rent it out. The villa was built in 83, I've owned it since 2003. In our location a pool is...

Why would regular mosaic tile not work in a diy situation?

Most pools in Spain are tiled as indeed is mine. Link to my construction thread - Pool Build in Costa Blanca Spain. - Page 2 The gunite was treated with an epoxy water proofing coat before tiling. My contractor gave a ten year guarantee. I believe from the web site that these type of tiles...

Thanks Kim! Yes our guests will have access to the pool, we will be renting to hikers over the winter (mountain hiking is my wifes passion) and the usual summer lets in the season. We have a self contained 2 double bedroom apartment with its own entrance lounge, kitchen and bathroom. We will go...

The tiles are Vidrepur glass mosaic tiles. There is a US web portal. They come on 315 x 315mm sheets with a backing and protective front paper. The tiles are fixed to the wall with the protective paper in place. They are easy to fix and are cut using a trowel through the backing, individual...

Finally getting there Getting there.. It’s been a long slow couple of weeks but we seem to be getting there at last. Balustrade work took forever, the power for the equipment was also routed under existing paving to minimise the cable run which added some extra work and delayed finishing the...

Very slow progress, or so it seems, over the last two weeks. Steps installed, paving stones laid and rendering done. Balustrades are going in today. Big error in contract – missed the fact that electricity being laid to equipment room wasn’t in the price, rather annoyed at myself over this...

We have Gunite! Gunite day. Once again the fluids had to be moved from the road to site across the house, easier this time as the gunite pump and compressor were put on my drive. Contractor took plenty of steps to mitigate any damage or spillage from the equipment. Workers arrived at 0730...
