    Rough pool bottom

I put a chlorine puck in a sock and let sit on some areas for a while and this did not seem to work. I had also been given a suggestion to do the same with some PH powder, which I did, and this did not seem to work either. I used PH up, should I have tried PH reducer? It does seem that...

    Rough pool bottom

Could this have happened while the pool was closed for the winter? At closing the chemistry should have been just fine too. If it is scaling, what can I do to confirm or remove?

    Rough pool bottom

Hello, I've got a fiberglass pool that I've had for about 6 years. The pool bottom is supposed to be smooth. After opening this year I have noticed some areas in the deep end that feel rough, dry, or callus like a pumice stone. There is not an elevation change in the surface as one would...

    HELP! Chalky pool surfaces

Still no progress despite shocking. It has been difficult keeping the FC up during the work day when not home. Don't know if this short lack of shock level chlorine will prolong the process or not. Going to do the overnight test tonight. Shock level for CYA of 40 is 16.

    HELP! Chalky pool surfaces

I backwashed last night and the water ran white for a minute or so then cleared. I filled the pool back up and added more chlorine to shock level. I brushed the walls and steps this morning. Pool is not clearing yet after a few days of shocking. I will stick with it. My TA was up this...

    Milky Water

I did use the polyquat 60. I am 8 days into the AA treatment. I've held chlorine since day 4, meaning I got all of the acid out. I have not added any polyquat 60 since I've had the chlorine holding.

    Milky Water

I'm at the tale end of an ascorbic acid treatment and was not supposed to shock for 2 weeks according to the instructions. My FC has been holding after the treatment for several days. I suppose I don't have any choice but to shock. Just did a fresh test FC 1 TA 90 PH 7.2 CH 220 CYA 45

    Milky Water

Yesterday I noticed my pool water did not appear as crystal clear as it had Saturday, and actually got worse through the day. Later I noticed the area of my concrete where my pool blaster vacuum was removed from the pool and leaked water, was now dry and left a powdery residue on the concrete...

    Post AA treatment test results

Just finishing up my AA treatment to remove some ring staining on my fiberglass pool. All has gone well. Just finishing rebalancing water. What do you think of the test results? My watergram indicates out of balance. Should I raise the TA, CH? Opionions? CYA 30 FC 0.5, have not added...

Ascorbic Treatment to rid Pool of metal stains

I began my treatment today to remove a mild beige ring around my fiberglass pool about a foot below the waterline. The ring disappeared very quickly after putting in the AA. I put in Metal Magic after about an hour of circulation. In the morning I will check my TA and PH and begin to raise as...

    Latest Test Results

I'm working to get the CH above 220. My understanding was CH was more important for concrete pools and not so much for liner or fiberglass. I've read pool school. I understand how to adjust everything and what to use. I'm interested in learning about the overall balance and relation of each...
