    New build recommendations- South Texas

BDY- Thanks for the input. Yes, the FusionSoft has the mineral side, but I don't know if the PB has equal access to all brands. I know they carry the Fusion, so I was going to go with their preferred brand (to save $?) and leave out the mineral unit (as I have seen, yes, many times on TFP). I...

    New build recommendations- South Texas

Texas Splash- Thanks for the quick response. I'm really ignorant of the VSP issue so I'll have to do some research on that concerning the automation so that I can ask some intelligent questions about it. There are four returns, and we discussed having the skimmer on the end where they wind...

    New build recommendations- South Texas

Building my first pool , but have been a TFP junkie for 9 years since my last home came with a pool. We are 65 and just retired. We want to build a very similar volleyball pool for old people to play and hang out. Looking for opinions on the new pool that the builder (AnthonySylvan) has...

Allen-Thanks again for the prompt reply and the thorough explanations and info. I think that I'll be OK. It never got below 6.6 with a full pool, and not for more than a couple of hours. I learned many things today. Take care.

New plaster, high TA, low pH

Just installed Diamond Brite. Fill water 290 TA- yikes- did not think about that issue at the time. After fill, added 3 gallons Muriatic- pH down to 6.8 . ( my installer said to get it to 6- I could not go there, but maybe he is right). TA sit as about 190. CH is 100 ( hard to tell by kit...

Is the Solar Breeze solar powered robotic skimmer worth the investment?

Studiovette- I am new pool owner/member. I have both the Pool Skim and the Solar Breeze. I bought the Poolskim before I discovered the Solar Breeze. The Poolskim worked well, but it is now out, in favor of the Solar Breeze, which I love. In my situation ( plenty of sunlight), it literally...

    Priorities with new water

Just emptied and refilled last Friday, slammed for a couple days just to make sure my algae is gone. Looks beautiful. Just got my CYA up in the last 2 days (added 1 pound yesterday), but the pH always seems to be 7.8 24 hours after I add muriatic to get it to 7.2. Today: FC 2.5 pH 7.8 CH...

    refill after algae/CYA/Hardness issues

Thanks gents. started running pump a couple hours ago. Tested FC again, holding at 40. CYA still 0. Did some reading, some poolmath, and put 5 trichlor pucks in my feeder and turned to max feed. Math says it should take 10 pucks to get to 30. Sound like a plan? Pool still green, but I...
