We need advice in North Texas for new pool.

We interviewed multiple builders but went with our specific builder because they offered PebbleTec and WetEdge. Other builders had pebble like options but with almost no difference in price we went with PebbleTec and the lifetime guarantee. Our installers did a great job and the more we brush...

Travertine Paver deck & coping - need to make a decision ASAP! :S

I wanted tumbled travertine as concrete pavers always seem hot here in Florida. We picked up samples from the supplier and placed them in our yard in the summer sun. They felt pretty hot and I put water on them and to me they were slippery. I was surprised and and annoyed as I really really...

That's really pretty.... Caribbean Blue reminds me of Typhoon Lagoon at Disney. Not windexy just bright, cool and refreshing.

Freestone (pebble tec) or Quartz (Marquis)?

Our pool is barely a month old but our kids are in it constantly. All of us love the Pebble Tec finish as it doesn't finely cut their feet up like marcite. (Neighborhood pool and other pools we visit have older marcite and the kids end up with bleeding toes.). The kids have stubbed their toes...

    Finally getting a pool

We are in Florida so different needs here to a point but we chose a heat pump over propane due to cost of propane. The heat pump was more expensive initially but we didn't have to rent or purchase the tank, have it delivered or a hole dug to get in the ground (otherwise you have an ugly big...

New to pools, starting build process in Naples - your thoughts on these quotes?

Deeper is better, at least 3 1/2 or 4 in the shallow area. I did not want a spa initially when we were planning our pool and I jokingly asked how much they were no it wasn't as unreasonable as I thought it would be. We did a heat pump (as gas prices here in Florida can get pricey) and it is the...

That is an excellent point about the glass versus abalone, Matt. (We used Pebble Tec and their abalone product so it comes with their warranty so I feel confident that if we have problems they will be addressed.)

We added the Shimmering Sea (abalone) and it was $300 a bag. I think we did two bags. I love it but I would have done even more if I had seen it in person before we built our pool. My only other issue is I have read some PT installers have let the customer hand cast it into the pool (or the...
