DIY pavers / block wall for semi inground pool

If budget is the concern (Like it was for me), Do the wall first this year, you can't risk pouring concrete or placing pavers without some kind of structure to prevent them from shifting or worse sliding. If you are backfilling with dirt you need to let it settle - especially with the sandy soil...

DIY pavers / block wall for semi inground pool

My pavers are appx 1/4-1/2" from the coping. The gap is filled with paver sand. The sand sits just low enough that I can still get the winter cover on (although I wont be using it this year). I would think you could do the same with capstones however I think the number of cuts you would need to...

DIY pavers / block wall for semi inground pool

Yup its the standard. Just wanted to give you a closeup of what it looked like. When I purchased my pool I only had one "in person" example and the brochures which didnt give me enough to go on.

    Radiant pools with deluxe coping

I think it would be difficult - might go through the foam and not the aluminum. There isnt more than a 1/2 inch on either side of the top to fasten to. Checked it out after I posted the question.

    Radiant pools with deluxe coping

Chas do you think I could screw down from the top? My clips are installed in a similar way. If so I have several extra white screws that I used to install the coping - good news is it will still look like bad but it will match.

DIY pavers / block wall for semi inground pool

DuckHunter - I saved all the scrap cuts. The coping I have here is the 2 track with liner and winter cover bead. My pavers go right up to it - could still get the cover clipped in if I wanted to - that said, I have a different cover I am going to use this year. Coping Side shot Microsoft...

DIY pavers / block wall for semi inground pool

Check out page 34 http://radiantpools.com/sites/default/files/FreeformInstallpgs15.pdf I would really push for at least some gravel backfill. Even if you can do half dirt half gravel you would have better drainage around the pool. I think with the paver coping you should be able to put the cap...

    Radiant pools with deluxe coping

Thanks 2k - I actually tried tape - The gorilla brand. Problem is, as the coping/tape warms with the sun the tape will remain sticky hold on the wall and coping but doesnt prevent the clip from moving/shifting or popping off on the inside wall of the pool. I think this is the stuff I used -...

DIY pavers / block wall for semi inground pool

its all in the prep work. trench the contour of the pool 1.5 to 2x's width of the block level the trench with gravel - put down first course be sure to level it. Build up along the pool wall. If you do something like this where the block is close to the pool do not rely on gravity alone to hold...

DIY pavers / block wall for semi inground pool

Thanks - lots of work but well worth it. Are you worried about the wall and material pushing against the wall panels (leaning in towards the pool/water)? If so I wouldnt. Once you get the concrete collar poured backfilled and fill the pool with water, the outward pressure of the water will be...

    Radiant pools with deluxe coping

Hi I was looking for something else and came across your post. I do not have the deluxe coping, just the basic but mine have the same issue. Everything else about the pool is top quality but the clips are absolute garbage. Just the dog (85lbs) standing on them can pop them loose... I thought...

Northern NJ - New to TFP

Last year I absolutely killed myself getting this pool together. Sometime around late July I threw my hands up in the air and said - im enjoying it and next spring I will finish it. Well here we are mid may and I'm getting there. About 2 weeks ago I had pavers installed around most of the pool...
