Right my mistake. It showed pink and one drop cleared it up. So I think It is somewhere between .1 and .5

I tested the CC its somewhere between 0.01 and 0.05. I can test more accurately if needed. I will try opening it more. Thanks for your help

I have a 19000-gallon inground vinyl pool with a automatic cover. It is covered except when swimming. I added a swg last year. The ph tends to go down. I have to aerate every week or so. Do I need to raise my TA? FC 7 PH 7.7 down to 7.4 then I aerate. TA 120 CYA 50

You are right, I filled to the 25 mark. I will try again. Using 10ml half tap water and half pool water it took 12 drops. So I'm think that means I'm at 4800 ppm. Thanks everyone.

Years of liquid chlorine seems to be the problem. My current chlorine level is 7. I did a diluted test 1 part to 4 parts tap water and it took 15 drops. If this is right I have about 15000 ppm. Is it safe to run a salt generator at that level? Thanks for all your help.

I’ve seen hth chlorine in discount stores in two varieties. It looks like one has stabilizer and one doesn’t. Does anyone know how this would compare to using bleach in price and results.

Is it possible to add a couple of drops of chlorine nutralizer to the ph test to get a more accurate reading?

Low PH causing the chlorine to be less effective could be the problem. But what causes the ph to drop so fast when he stops aireating?

Using test strips the cya looks to be above 200. Using drops for the other readings. He stopped using stabilizer last year and used a lot of acid in the last year to bring the ta down from about 375.
