I have read all this talk about putting CYA in a sock, but what is the big disadvantage of just sprinkling the granules in the pool and brushing it around? Will it discolor plaster (PebbleTec)? Hope this isn't too much of a newbie question.

Thanks Jason. There is no label on the bottom (unfortunately - that would be a good addition for Leslie's). I don't have a scale at home that would measure anything that light, so I guess I'd better buy or borrow one.
