Seems to me to be a "cut it too early" issue, and a new liner should be installed.

I would have needed a new liner because of the bullet holes from attempting to shoot that spider with a rifle.

Ah..my bad lol..I see what went wrong. I was referring to the ease of just plugging the vacuum into the skimmer through the flapper door...."inserting and removing" they thought I meant the skimmer lid.....clarified!

I build decks...so this one here I intend on taking out the rails, extending out and then coping into the pool and then doing an elevated maybe 4" wide walkway around the pool then wrap around steps down to this level you...

Really? All my stuff is brand new! My skimmer lid has the tabs and you push the handle towards the pool to unlatch them then take the lid straight up...no issue. Its how I get the skimmer basket out to clean out bugs...

I plan to build a ramp this weekend...we have the pool in place near the existing deck but I havent been able to start the new pool deck...So for the time being Im gonna build a long walk up ramp off the existing deck to the pool..(2' difference) and at the end have a 4'x4' platform for them to...

Seems to me that the way I have been doing it is easier, no turning the pump on/off just insert/remove from the skimmer when Im done...

Was at 91...used spray fountain two nights in a row to get it to 80..too cold. So I did the water hose trick to get it to 86/87....which is where we like it.

So I have this port/skimmer too and its called a vacuum port but theres no suction on it? I always go into the skimmer through the flapper door and insert my vacuum attachment directly to the port in the bottom of the skimmer....

I am one who cant leave anything alone. I always have to modify or tweak something. I realize most people with an above ground pool we are limited on what we can do with water fountains, jets, etc. But other than tapping into the return for a fountain...what else would be a safe thing to do with...
