Opened the pool this evening and it didn't go so well. When I tried backwashing the filter, the flow out was very low. I then switched it to "waste", same thing. Back to backwashing and finally got a good flow out. Moved it to filter and it didn't seem to be pulling much water. I am not...

We freeze bleach bottles and throw a few in the pool when the kids are playing. Probably doesn't low the temperature any, but it feels good when you play with the cold water from the bleach bottles:) They take longer to melt than just a big block of ice.

We are burning up down here in Tulsa, Oklahoma. 93 this afternoon! That is the water temperature! I put a fountain on yesterday, but so far, it hasn't helped much...

I'm in NE Oklahoma. It is hard to find 12% liquid chlorine anyway. THe pool stores don't carry it. I did find 1 gallon size at Atwoods, but for $5.99! Crazy. I am using Walmart's 6% (1.42gallon) for 2.54 right now.

I usually go to Aldi's They have Tundra (their brand) 96 oz for $1.29. The sad part is last summer, it was 96oz for .99 cents.

I don't know our exact temperature, but it is hot! Our neighbors pool says 93. What are the methods for lowering the temp? I know you can drain some out and refill, but what else? I have a fountain. Should I run the pump during the day for the fountain or is night better? I wonder how much...

Thanks for the replies. I was hoping the ph test was just inaccurate with the high chlorine. I just upped the chlorine to 20 a few minutes ago. I will bring it up to 20 - 25 tomorrow morning. Thanks:)
