    SWG pools

No, far bigger than sand. Never picked up prior to the addition of salt. Salt came from SAMs... Hard white chips, wasn't a clump of salt either.

    SWG pools

slight correction, whatever it was/is was in the container of the robot cleaner we use, and a small amount in the pump basket. I'll upload a pic in a minute. Maybe salt that did not dissolve, but seems rather large. The oily part was just noticed at the same time. - - - Updated - - - Only pic...

    SWG pools

Ok great! My SWG calls for 4000ppm for optimal production. We added 7 bags of salt based on the calculator here, to bring it up from 3000. The next day after running the pump all night with the SWG off, and brushing it all in to help it dissolve, we had small white chips in the skimmer...

For the Salt pool owners out there, assuming all your Chemistry is dialed in they way you want it, how often are you adding liquid Chlorine? Just trying to get a good idea once things get there.

Thanks, I figured so, but wanted to be sure since I'm new to this.

    FAS/DPD Test question

I suppose this goes for all testing? When testing for the CC, after 1 drop, if the water is mostly clear with a slight pink hue, is that a Zero or a One? Im talking about a very slight pink color left. Thanks!

    Opinions on relocating pump station

Is there a consensus on which brand/type of check valve to use? Should I leave it above ground for future repairs?

    Opinions on relocating pump station

So, top of the filter to water line hight is/should be point of reference in determining hight difference? I was figuring the plumbing that is buried at the bottom of the pool sidewalls.

    Opinions on relocating pump station

If the rise is too much, my next though is to extend the plumbing and electrical to the left side of the house in this pic. That will put the pump lower than the waterline by 3ft max.

About 6ft, but my thoughts were to figure from the lowest point of the plumbing.

    Opinions on relocating pump station

Hi We are new pool owners and are now wishing we had pushed harder for a different pump location. Not only is it an eyesore it is also making drainage difficult. We ultimately do not want a retaining wall and landscaped this way. My question is, with my current pump, a 1hp Hayward, will it be...

My head is about to explode!

Done! Water is clear, pool has been filled since April 23, started pump and cleaning 2nd week of May, had fair amount of dirt in the bottom. Water is municipal. I'll update test stats in the morning. Thanks!

My head is about to explode!

Thanks for all the tips. When I bought the kit, I had zeroed in on the Taylor 2005 from the internet simply from ratings more than knowledge, but they only had the 2006, and neither I nor they, knew what it offered that was different from the 2005. Oh well, easy fix. Should I be concerned about...
