    High temp union

Can anyone cite a source for this statement - "many pumps have straight threads"? I ask because I'm about to repipe my pool equip pad, and ran across this thread while researching. After reading the thread, I went to hayward-pool.com hoping the spec manuals for my Hayward Super II pump would...

Air bubbles in pump strainer pot, but no air coming out pool returns

Good idea. Haven't notice any water loss at waste port, but honestly I hadn't thought to look there. Will check tomorrow for water loss and listen for air getting sucked in, and update. Have checked several times for the backpressure surge causing water to squirt/spit out anywhere on suction...

Air bubbles in pump strainer pot, but no air coming out pool returns

Again, thanks for all the replies. Also curious to me is why is there is air in the pump basket but no air coming out of the pool's returns. Hayward S244T filter, so air escapes through return line exiting top of filter...

Air bubbles in pump strainer pot, but no air coming out pool returns

Update: pump strainer pot was still almost full this morning, so after 12 hours of pump off there was very little leak down. There were several more small air bubbles present in the pot, but I'd say pot was still 98-99% full. Very strange I plan to service the pump's drain plugs this afternoon...

Air bubbles in pump strainer pot, but no air coming out pool returns

Thanks for the reply!!! Very much appreciated I suspect same. Question though - what would you expect to happen if air leak were on the pressure side of the pump? Would pot only drain down to bottom of suction inlet? No, but drowned/flooded each drain plug with water from garden hose and saw...

Air bubbles in pump strainer pot, but no air coming out pool returns

Pump/filter/circulation system all seems to work well, but for this one issue. No water leaks visible above ground. Pool does not seem to be losing water. With pump running the strainer pot is 99% full of water, but there clearly is an excessive amount of air bubbles swirling around in the pump...

Consensus on fix for Liquidator White Stuff problem?

Really appreciate all the replies. One additional observation... my LQ's WS problem gets noticeably worse if I add more than 2.5 gallons of liquid chlorine at a time, or if the level of liquid chlorine in the LQ approaches the top of the white extension tube. I suspect the problem may be...

Consensus on fix for Liquidator White Stuff problem?

JohnT, thanks for the quick reply. Please clarify - you wrote "low pH", did you mean high pH? What I gather from other posts is the chlorine saturated water layer in the Liquidator is high pH. Also, I see from your sig that your pool and equipment similar to mine. Curious if you would share the...

Consensus on fix for Liquidator White Stuff problem?

I've read through all the Liquidator WS troubleshooting threads that I could find, but all posts were from back in 2008 and I never saw a "final disposition" on best approach to prevention. Just had my first bout with the WS, clogging the flow control valve, so hoping someone can point me in the...
