Maytronics (Dolphin) reliability has become ridiculously bad - what are the best, most reliable alternatives?

If you aren't happy with Maytronics, then try Polaris. There are some off brand Chinese ones around too, not sure if they do a good job.

    Polaris ALPHA iQ+ HELP

You said it works when you plug in into your house, so there is something on the outdoor circuit that is causing the device to error. There are many videos of Error 10 on these robots because it is a communication error between the robot and the controller; it happens when the wires get frayed...

    Polaris Freedom?

This is how all Polaris robots are. You have to buy a fine mesh filter, which will get almost everything out of your pool. While it is a mild annoyance to switch filters, I find that the fine mesh filter does a great job getting all the fine silt out of the pool.

    Polaris Freedom?

One thing to note comparing the Polaris vs the Dolphin is battery size. The Polaris has a 9.6 Ah battery, while Dolphin is 5 Ah. There will be a significant difference in cleaning time and possibly suction power as well.

    WaterGuru Sense Test v. TF-100

Yes the CH in mine is way off too. I retested with the drops and some strips I had after I saw that result and their result is way lower than either. Their CH result was 179, my drip test was 320 and the strips showed closer to that range too.

    Calcium hardness test

I think the 25 ml is the standard...that is what the Taylor kits all use. The 10ml is different, and the results are somewhat different as you would expect since the ration of water to reagents isn't exactly the same.

    Calcium hardness test

Yes I am using a speedstir. Results are slightly different using the 2 methods...I wouldn't really act on either of the results so I guess its not a big deal.

    Calcium hardness test

I have a TF test kit and have a question about the Calcium Hardness test. The video instructions post a test with 25ml of water/20 drops r-0010/5 drops r-0011...this is the same instructions as the old Taylor kit I have. The printed instructions says 10ml water/10 drops r-0010/3 drops r-0011...

    WaterGuru Sense Test v. TF-100

my PH is spot on. My chlorine is also spot on at lower levels (1-3), but when the cholorine levels get higher the water guru reads low.

    Requirements for Install

Can be done with smaller machines but it will cost more as the dig will take longer. Also will cost more if they will have to use a crane to hoist the fiberglass pool shell over your house and into your backyard.

Where to buy the Polaris Alpha IQ+

They have events called "polaris days" where the price is lowered by $150 or so and the rebate is still valid. The same model is sold be Leslies and called VRX IQ+. Prices are the same for both models. You can figure out on their website when the next event is that lowers the price and which...
