Thank you for the information. I put the calc into a spreadsheet. Looks like if I don’t dilute the bleach but leave it at 10%, it won’t freeze until 10 degF or so.

I buy 10% and mix 6 gallons with 9 gallons of water so try that’s 4%. Maybe I need to kick it up before it gets cold. Is there a chart for % vs temp?

What do I need to do to protect my bleach pump and tubing? Overnight lows will be in the 20’s this week. TIA -Mark

NaClO + 2HCl = NaCl + Cl2 + H2O So it created salt, chlorine gas & water. The Cl2 is likely vented, so what’s left, assuming there was a complete reaction and enough bleach to combine with the acid, is leftover bleach, salt and water. Does that sound right?

So, what’s left in the tank is just water with a bit of salt? Couldn’t I just pump it into the pool and refill? There isn’t much in it, couple gallons, and the bleach was diluted to 3.75%.

Yes, I check it on weekends. I was hoping after the last slam it would stay clear, but the ph ran up too high & now I’m slamming again. Started getting questioned by the Walmart staff about my shopping cart full of bleach lol. It’s a constant struggle.

Is there a way to get orp/ph on my phone? I can’t get over to where the pool is every day, and it’d be nice to see a little graph just so I know if it’s going south. Currently running a stenner bleach pump on a Bestway AGP. TIA -Mark
