NEED ADVICE: SuperFlo VS (342001) vs. IntelliFlo VS (011018).

Thought about that but my pool guy said he hadn't done a ton of 2-speed pumps and he thought that most required separate wiring for a switch to go back and forth. After some research I'm finding that wasn't necessarily true. Any recommendations for a 2-speed, or VS motor that would attach to...

NEED ADVICE: SuperFlo VS (342001) vs. IntelliFlo VS (011018).

    1) Called my power company and they do not offer a rebate. Bummer 2) Electricity isn't too terribly expensive but my bill jumps up quite a bit in the summer months while running the pump.(and A/C) 2 speed could be an option, but haven't seen too many reviews about them. Any recommendations...

NEED ADVICE: SuperFlo VS (342001) vs. IntelliFlo VS (011018).

Hey guys, been a while since I've been on here. Read a few different posts about the pumps mentioned but I am needing your "expert" advice on which pump I should get to replace my old 1.5hp Hayward pump. Here are a few of my stats and I've included some pictures for you. Bought the house a...

    Chlorine

Ok guys, I've got a question... I've read through pool school and a few other posts and it looks like most of you guys reccommend a liquid chlorine. I just bought my house and have ran through the few remaining chlorine pucks that the previous home owner left me. So, it's time to get...

    New Pool Owner, Need Advice

Awesome, thanks. My main concern right now is that I have people coming over this weekend and they're all expecting the pool to be ready. Just want to make sure I get a plan together so I can get the pool ready to go in a few days. Is this possible given my situation?

    New Pool Owner, Need Advice

RobbieH, Thanks for the info. Backwashed once since I opened it based on what a buddy told me and reassuring to know that I did it correctly. So after I backwash, I need to turn the filter back on and after the needle rests at a location, then I move the "Start" to that position? Is that correct?

Jason, When would I need to recirculate?

    New Pool Owner, Need Advice

Robbie H, I think I do. I had someone come by and told me about how and when to backwash. The waste function is when I need to drain my pool. Still a little unsure about the recirc, rinse functions. Here is a pic of the gauge when the pump is running. It usually runs at about 14-15psi...

    New Pool Owner, Need Advice

Thanks for the advice about the pool school link. From the sounds of it, the first thing I should invest in is a test kit. It looks like I'm also going to have to drain 50-75% of my pool and fill back up. As I'm refilling, I'll be adding dichlor to adjust the chlorine level and CYA level? or...

    New Pool Owner, Need Advice

Hey John, Yes, the shock was calcium hypochlorine 78%. Would I need to drain the entire thing? Again, pretty clueless and the previous owners didn't leave me with much. I've been adding the chlorine tablets directly to the skimmer. Whenever I see the they're gone I just throw a few more...

    New Pool Owner, Need Advice

Thanks in advance for any advice! Hi guys, just bought a house with a pool. Never owned one before and have a few questions. I opened my pool 2 weeks ago. Gave it a good vaccuuming and it looked pretty clear. Went to my local Pool store to get my water tested and here were the initial...
