Okay, I see that with my CYA level my shock is 17. Can someone explain that to me? Where that shock number comes from?

Added acid about an hour and half ago. Tested PH and it is down to 7.4. Should I shock now? Am I correct that FC needs to be at 10 to shock? Thanks Steph
