Trying to Get This Right

Been awhile since I’ve been here (got rid of our pool in some moves), but we decided to get a hot tub so I’m back with all the questions! Tried to set it up once but got behind I think. Have a white chalky film on seats and sides. Getting ready to use Ahh-some to clean the tub and been...

    Want to get This Right!

Here's the latest picture. The clouds came & finally devoured the sun for a bit, so it's not taken in the same sunlight as other days. I think you can see further down the ladder, but it might just be wishful thinking.... Pool July 12 001.JPG[/attachment:323kkmzm]

New user with (hopefully) a minor question

Hopefully, I can post this link correctly. This will show you the differences between the two kits. That's what I did to make my decision after looking on Amazon, & ended up going with the TF 100. Take a look & see which is better for you. pool-school/pool_test_kit_comparison

    Want to get This Right!

Just wanted to check in & say the pool is looking better today. Will post pic later if I get a chance. Want to thank everyone who's taken time to help & reassure me I've been doing the right thing! :goodjob: I guess because you don't magically see results right away, doubt starts to creep...

    Want to get This Right!

Ok, thanks!! I keep reading on here & feel like I learn something new each time & feel like I've totally messed up! Here's a pic from today. Does this look like improvement? To me it's looking the same....pool July 11 001.JPG[/attachment:1trh4q5j]

    Want to get This Right!

Ok, I'm getting nervous/confused here. Since I did not test my TA before trying to lower my pH, is that maybe affecting the shocking process since high pH lowers the effects of the chlorine if I'm reading correctly? Based on the test I got from the pool store the day I added MA, my TA was at...

    Want to get This Right!

Gotcha!! Thanks for the advice! Question, the hot tub had the jets for aeration? What about the pool?

    Want to get This Right!

I have not tested the TA. I was told not to worry about that until I was done shocking. Should I test that now, while I'm in the process of shocking or continue to wait? I went through the TA testing last night with my hot tub (same well water we used for the pool) & it was high when I...

    Want to get This Right!

Well, I spent all day yesterday maintaining shock level. I see I was losing about 4ppm of FC every couple of hours & kept bringing the level back up. Cleaned the cartridge for the filter twice yesterday. It had brown yuck in it, which I'm guessing was dead algae. Did an FC overnight test &...

    Want to get This Right!

Well I'm no where meeting the three criteria. Yet. Anyways, here's a picture of where we got today. I know how much you love pictures!! Plan on checking FC one more time before bed & adjusting accordingly. pool July 9 001.JPG[/attachment:1c5c5g0s]
