Needed: Some kind of rotating brushes, but not a robot

Hello, I have a ceramic tile surfaced pool with with about 1/4" white grout lines. Overall, the water and the pool's walls and floor look great. But, lately, there appeared sporadically here and there black/black-brown stains on the grout lines. this happens mostly at the deep end (8 ft), and...

New pool, CYA=0 intentionally, what should be the FC shock level?

I don't understand why there is a need for minimum amount of CYA even if the pool holds very well its FC. I waited three days before re-posting so I could check it carefully. In 3 days and nights, without swimmers, FC went down hardly 0.5 ppm! CYA buffers the chlorine so it is more stable but at...

New pool, CYA=0 intentionally, what should be the FC shock level?

Thanks JasonLion, Is calcium clouding common? Could it be that adding the acid for the first time triggered it? Could adding additional acid (while lowering the pH) also dissolve the clouding? Is it safe to swim in the remaining calcium cloud (regardless of FC)?

New pool, CYA=0 intentionally, what should be the FC shock level?

I just started a new 25K tiled pool. The pool has some kind of enclosure so it is pretty much protected from direct sunlight during the day. It has been open already a week, with FC around 1 and pH around 7.8, with only bleach added (no other chemical whatsoever). Water were sparkling clear. Now...

At last! Pool is finished and filled

When I said Water Clarifier I meant some coagulation agent that combines many small particles to few bigger ones, so they sank down and make the water clearer and also make filter's life easier.. There is no plaster dust in my pool. It's tiled. And no, I'm not listening to the pool store...

thanks. Then, what's your recommendation about the use of water clarifier (Alumina Silicate?). If I use it then how I pour it and when - in time relation with chlorine pouring. Thanks again.

At last! Pool is finished and filled

At last! Pool is finished and filled with 25KG clean city water. PH is 7.0, TA and CH are both 330 (very hard water!) Pool is tiled with ceramics. I'm planning on using liquid chlorine. What's the very first step? Should I raise PH to 7.5 BEFORE putting in the chlorine? If yes, then how? borax...

needed recommendation: which is better to lubricate seals in records, valves, etc. - silicone based products or PTFE based products? Thanks in advance for your advice!

sealant/glue glass to concrete, continuous immersion, salt/chlorine resistance

I am in the process of building a swimming pool with an opening in the wall to be used as a window. So I need to glue and seal a glass pane to that opening (concrete) and seal it continuously all around. The process of attaching the glass and sealing will be carried out dry - no water in the...

retrofitting a pvc pipe thru concrete wall

My second post here, still working on my signature.. Anyhow, IG, 25K, cast concrete walls, 8" thick, ceramics tiled. For some reason I need to add another 1-1/2" or two pvc pipes thru the pool wall. I do have an access to parts of the backside of the walls. what I ask is what size of hole to...

    automatic water leveler connections

New to this site, but I like it very much. IG already built, with no provision for automatic water filler. I have access to the full length of one of the return lines. I cannot drill additional holes in the pool walls. my question: Is there any possibility to share this return line with...
