Recovering from a flood - Louisiana

Might be best to wait until water table under the pool has gone down to prevent the pool from popping up out of the ground. Believe me I've seen this happen. The only thing keeping the pool in the ground right now might be the dirty water inside it. Once the flood waters subside and the water...

Black Algae on glass tile pool

There shouldn't be any damage to the cell using boost. I wouldn't go as far to use a stain remover just yet. You might try using Poolife Stain Stop or Poolife Cell Protect if it's available in your area. Please note: Pools and cars will consume stacks of $ on a regular basis, no matter the...

Black Algae on glass tile pool

I have corrected a similar concerns in the past. Check/clean your filter first, remodels leave a mess in the pipes which gums up a cartridge filter. Add about 1/4 gallon Muriatic Acid to the water and bring the pH to 7.0 to 7.2, set your cell to boost output and bring the chlorine content to...

Water in pool light junction box??

I've seen electricians that didn't glue the conduit joints or the conduit got broken during backfill. There is a seal that goes around the light cord and into the conduit opening inside the niche. You can use pool putty also. This usually stops the leak pretty good. pool- adj. A hole of any...

    SLAM?

Thanks Jblizzle. I am reading the link you sent regarding improper CPO ideas and I have to say I must agree so far with the findings, makes sense from what ive seen in my time poolside. I apologize if I came across as rude or trying to mislead anyone. I will read more on the information and...

UV light rapid free chlorine level dropping

If you have a trident series 2 with the S12 or S13 i would unplug a bulb or as another member said just shut it off for a bit. Ive seen commercial UV systems destroy 20# of CAL Hypo in 4 hours. UV works, sometimes too good!

    SLAM?

 So I've been doing the whole pool maintenance thing on a professional level for some time. I've gone through countless number of certifications, factory trainings etc. Then suddenly I hear about this SLAM idea. I read the posts regarding this and the overnight chlorine loss, which...

Cost to core drill and install wall returns

Check your flow rate and filter capacity. Might be easier to switch out a pump or filter than change to wall returns.

UV light rapid free chlorine level dropping

If you have a 2 bulb or 3 bulb trident unplug a bulb and see if that helps. Trident is sized for flow rate and water temp. If you have too many bulbs lit it could cause the problem you stated.

    Switch to a SWG?

I would design with an AutoPilot SAG as the DIG-220 has a built in control for the pump. I feel it is the easiest to use and maintain and operate. Make sure to get a good test kit like a Taylor and read the book. Also, I hear it's a good idea to use sacrificial anodes around lights and an in...

Cost to core drill and install wall returns

Have you made sure your flow rate (turnover rate) is correct? I've never had a problem with circulation with in floor return. Sounds like a lot to go through if you only need to resize a pump or filter.

    I have Gunite Pox?

You could try a 2 part pool putty mixed with some marble dust to cover small holes or imperfections. Make sure you keep your water balanced and check it once a week. Healthy water = healthy finish.

UV light rapid free chlorine level dropping

If you have a 2 lamp or 3 lamp system try unplugging a bulb to see if that could be the case. I've seen UV strong enough to remove 10ppm of shock in 8 hours (Hanovia)
