Day 12 of SLAM, progress has stalled

Lots of places for algae to hide in there. Clean it out, and check your skimmer baskets, too.

Day 12 of SLAM, progress has stalled

Excellent work! Keep going because you're well on your way to a sparkling pool :whoot: Like many on here, I've been through this myself this year, and with the help of this outstanding community I now have a crystal clear, balanced pool that doesn't intimidate me anymore! Once you complete the...

    Cost benefit analysis!

This is excellent, and a great visual for anyone who still needs convincing that the TFP method is a money saver. Whilst I don't track our pool expenses quite like you do, I can say that so far this year we're at about $86, which includes $46 for shipping a SWG cell back for testing. Thanks for...

    Generating chlorine, FINALLY!

If it's helpful, I've had my Circupool RJ30 for over 3 years and I love it, does exactly what they said it would :goodjob:

    Be your own advocate

Welcome to TFP. Congratulations on escaping from the dark side  As AZgirl asks, have you ordered your test kit, it will be your best friend. also, add your pool and equipment info to your signature, it will help everyone here better help you.

Does a Salt Cell know when it needs replacement?

You haven't passed the OCLT until your FC loss is 1ppm or LESS. You need to to maintain the shock level per Chlorine/CYA Chart until you pass the OCLT, record a CC level of .5 or or lower, and your water is crystal clear (which it is). Stick with it, you're very close.

Newbie in Phoenix, AZ - Green Pool and BBB method

TF100 with Speedstir all the way. We have some challenges here in Phoenix, not least the pool store teenage mutant testers :shark:, and as everyone has said, get the best kit. I had the HTC kit before I got my TF100, I gave it (the HTC kit) to my buddy because he didn't want to spend the extra...

Newbie with rainy day woes. Are we safe to swim yet?

I agree with lindz18, once you use the test kit (the instructions are easy and concise, they have to be because I mastered it!) and plug your numbers into Poolmath (you can use it on your smartphone or computer) the clouds of doubt will dissipate, and the reading you've done in pool school will...

    Cloudy water advice please

You're very welcome. I've been through this myself, the only difference is that my wife's eyes glaze over when I talk about the the process and what I have to do ;-) Do your overnight test, and if you drop more than 1ppm take it back to shock level per the Chlorine/CYA chart until you pass the...

Newbie from south Mississippi and recovering poolstoreaholic

Hi and welcome to TFP, you are in the right place to get the help you need. I'm not an expert on either vinyl pools or high water tables I live in the desert, and we only have high rock tables and temperatures!), but someone with the requisite knowledge will be along shortly. In the meantime...

    Cloudy water advice please

One more question, have you performed an OCLT - Overnight Chlorine Loss Test. This will tell you if your problem is organic or something else.

    Cloudy water advice please

Splendid. You might want to invest in the Taylor K-1766 Salt Water Test, it will help you verify your controller's reading of your salt level. Looking at your results you need to get your PH down with MA to 7.2 so you are ready to SLAM (check the CYA/Chlorine chart for the recommended SLAM level...
