Welcome to TFP :wave: The door on the skimmer/weir probably needs a little sanding at the point it touches/hangs-up on the housing. Planning it sound a little like over-kill to me :roll: You may be able to hand sand it with the door in place. If it's a real old pool the plastic retainer clips...- ktc211

Brand new here, and in need of a new filter
Welcome to TFP :wave: I just had a new pool built. It's got a Hayward DE7220 my guess is, it may depends on your pump GMP/HP, but I'm not a real world expert. I've had DE, Sand and Cartridge Filter types. I favor the DE,I'm a pool owner for 25 years +. DE is more user friendly IMHO...- ktc211

Introduction.... question about pool tile color
Welcome to TFP :wave: I used a tile with a high clear glaze as it's easier to clean as jblizzle stated . As to the color, talk to and interior in your case exterior decorator or Google pool imagines :goodjob: Good Luck :cheers:- ktc211

Welcome to TFP :wave: Have you replace (I'm sure you have) the sand in your sand filter yet? When you do run the filter empty to see if your skimmer suction rises. Then do the same after you add clean sand... Take note the difference to see if you possible have a foreign object/trash jammed in...- ktc211

Your Welcome Merc ... That means you probably have the same hot weather as I do. :) Good thing we found this site to keep the cool spot looking cool & clean... I've got a 200 + year old oak tree to shade our pool in the afternoon :-D .... I may soon wish I'd installed a Vegas Style cooling...- ktc211
