Pool Build Idea - Need Feedback

The only material that should be used for a project of this sort would be Transparent Aluminum. ☺ Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Tapatalk

    storing pool supplies in Phoenix

I live in Tempe, and I have this product which I purchased locally at Costco, but which is also available online: Lifetime Horizontal Shed I have only had this for about 6 months now, but it is doing just great so far. I was also concerned about Phoenix sun, and I have several friends that had...

Pump draws too much water from skimmer

I think what duraleigh was suggesting is the rectangular opening between the pool and your basket you show in your video. What is happening exactly in your vid? It starts out swirling and looks normal, so I am assuming that the pump is on at least at a slow speed, is that correct? and then...

2 week vacation - I trust nobody to take care of the pool!

I think the OP meant that his PH was "precisely" at 8.0, not that it was "correct" at 8.0; at least that is the way I read it.

    Pump Issues

Here is an alternative at ~$25 dollars cheaper... Intermatic 40 Amp 208-277 Volt 24 Hour DPST Mechanical Time Switch with Outdoor Enclosure-T104RD89 - The Home Depot this is a 208V-277V timer, but you can just use the L1 terminals only and ignore the L2 altogether, it will work just fine. or...

    New valves

As Jblizzle said you sure can. You just will probably need to rotate the diverter assembly. It can only rotate 180 degrees, and in my experience comes from the factory set up so that you can fully block the top, or fully block the bottom, but you can't block the middle at all. You would want...

    New valves

Well I am not sure how exact your 12 inch measurement was, but I think the 3port jandy valves are about 6 3/4" and if you could bump your pump back just an inch or two, you could fit jandy valves in this configuration... As for other suggestions for non- neverlube valves, Jandy also makes...

    Pump Issues

This is somewhat true, but not exactly. I just went through a pump buying experience, and I was checking with pool stores as well as looking online. To the best of my knowledge, it seemed to me that you can still get warranties from the manufacturers even if you self install, but they are...

    Pool pipe plumbing mismatch ????

Well that is how mine is, I have 2 1/2 from the drain/skimmer and 1 1/2 from the dedicated vacuum port, and the return loop is all 1 1/2. I just recently re-plumbed my pad when i installed a new pump and filter, and asked a similar question on if I could use 2" or not. The answer was use the...

Replumb equipment pad pipes to 2" from 1.5" should be ok?

Just an update for anyone that cares... I did complete my pad upgrade this weekend, and I did use the 2" pipe and everything worked just fine. it took me 3 days to get it done (you probably aren't going to want me to do your system, I charge by the hour ;) ), and the pool started getting an...

    Light Selection question

I saw another post with a similar question, and thought i would post my own so as not to hi jack someone else s thread. I need a new pool light, i have a Pentair with a blue lens, I am not sure of the wattage, but from the ring etching, it matches with other pentair I have seen online. Here is...

Replumb equipment pad pipes to 2" from 1.5" should be ok?

Thanks for the responses all. There are not any bubbles that come out of the returns. And if I am reading between the lines correctly, if these aren't venturi/spa returns, then there shouldn't be any leaks like this.

Replumb equipment pad pipes to 2" from 1.5" should be ok?

thank you all for the feedback, @mas985 I will be sure to reduce the RPM's, since I am buying a VS pump to replace the old single speed. I also plan to purchase @jblizzle when you say "good pool valves" I assume you are referring to things like the Jandy series of valves. Are there other...

Replumb equipment pad pipes to 2" from 1.5" should be ok?

I have just purchased a house with a pool, and am a first time pool owner. Pool details are in my sig. I assume the pool was built in 1979 with the house, but at any rate it has, as far as I can tell 1.5" piping for most of the way. I have purchased some new equipment to refresh my equipment...
