I've used both. The solid is a mess to deal with when you go to open your pool in the spring with leaves and yuck on top. I used the mesh with an air pillow in the middle of the pool with clamps I bought from Home Depot to tighten down to the top rail so the cover would not touch the pool...

Where did you get your SWG and how did you install it?? Is it the kind that hooks in the plumbing?

Try adding borates. I haven't had to add acid since May.

Thanks, I didn't have any problem with it moving out of position this time, I was just not sure if I cut it in half if it would still spin or if you have to hook the 2 pieces together first.

I just got back from vaca and the pool held up great with my cover on. I plan on removing it tomorrow sometime and remembered some people say they are easier to handle if you cut them in half. When you use the cover like that does this effect the spinning while the pump is running??

This is the first time I put the solar cover on, we will be leaving for vaca tomorrow. I got it on and turned the pump on and it was spinning and everything looks ok. Will rain eventually flow into the pool with the cover on??? Will it just sit on top till it starts sinking the cover in...

We had the nut grass sprout up in a couple places with our first pool :x We ended up using the gorilla pad this time because of that.

oh and I took the hand rail off of them a long time ago. So I don't have to remove them when I cover for winter.

I have the steps and haven't had any problems. I used them with other pool too. I vacuum inside them every so often, keep my chlorine levels up, and when I add water I put the hose behind them.
