CYA and CH are high, time to drain?

60 CYA is fine for a TX pool, but FC needs to be as per chart above, miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinimum 5. It's early in the season now so a bit lower CYA is also fine. I just converted to SWG, but when using liquid chlorine, I ran my CYA at 70 last summer because i get zero shade and I was...

    Hayward Eclipse Settings

Ok so the Home Depot UV lights aren’t a good idea. Got it. ;) Yea FC is high. I plan on keeping it around nine-ish. Just trying to dial in the SWG percentage after install.

    Hayward Eclipse Settings

Sig updated. Please cancel public flogging. I do not wish to be octagonal membership card holder. If I am kicked out of club, I swear I'll go to Leslie's right now, get a free water test, buy floc and phosphate reducer, and then I'll add pH up and pH down at the same time ;) ;) ;) Can we get...

    Hayward Eclipse Settings

I can’t seem to find the Hayward OmniLogic literature for eclipse settings. I am guessing that it will slowly ramp down my SWG percentage as the eclipse progresses and then slowly ramp it back up as the eclipse is ending. I am panicking because I’m going to end up with more FC if my pool...

Method for adding CYA after a refill

I find that putting it in front of the return spins it 437,000,000 times and it gets twisted up massively. So I dangle the cya in front of the spa spillover for a nice, relaxing, laminar flow over the pantyhose!

    Tabs ok in this situation

Two years ago I bought 50lbs of tabs and fired pool boy. Two days later I discovered TFP. So I have a stash of tabs I will never use, except when I need to bump my cya up. I use a floater and make sure I’m ok with the pH and salt effects of the tabs before adding them. So yep, now that you know...

Adding valve actuator to hose bib - no overflow port in pool

Ok awesome sounds like I don’t need to buy more relays or a smart relay or whatever. Thx!!

Adding valve actuator to hose bib - no overflow port in pool

Hmm so let me ask… I’ll be converting my prologic to Omnipl, and adding SWCG hopefully this weekend. The current wiring you see here is for a 2 speed pump(very recently replaced with a variable speed), heater, blower, pool light, spa light, and two valve actuators. My main question is will the...

It's spring - Let's go!! First test of the season/ownership

Did someone dump a ton of muriatic in the pool???

Adding valve actuator to hose bib - no overflow port in pool

Yep that’s what I was asking about. Mainly looking for any down side to doing this that I didn’t think about. But anything has got to be better than the current process.

Adding valve actuator to hose bib - no overflow port in pool

Wow y’all. Great feedback. I have a PL PS 8 with clunky aqua link. OmniPL arrives tomorrow so will hopefully upgrade this weekend along with adding SWG, FINALLY!!

Adding valve actuator to hose bib - no overflow port in pool

Hi all - my pool strangely does not have an overflow port. This is super annoying because hopefully I just happen to be home when we get 3" of rain in 1 day in Houston, and...I have to go out in the rain, turn the spigot on, set a timer on my iphone so I don't forget about it, then go back out...
