To buy or not to buy? (another Maytronics robot)

My first robot was a Zodiac MX-8, purchased in 2011, IIRC for 400. Lasted until 2021, where it needed a tune-up. I thought I should get 1k robot, for that price it should be better....boy was I wrong. This is my second season with a Prowler 930w, and I will go back to the MX-8 as soon as...

Can't lower PH in a green pool

I'm going to purchase new agents just to be on the safe side....thanks for the recommendation. 30 min to re-check? I would've thought that wasn't sufficient time to circulate. I will go ahead and do that.

Can't lower PH in a green pool

the agent is 2-3 years old. Since I tested it with tap water (7.8), I would think that shows that the agent is good.

Can't lower PH in a green pool

My local Homedepot and lowes did not have it in stock. Anyway, I've added 4 cups and it's still showing 8.2. I tested tap water and it's at 7.8 so I would think the testing is correct. Is there anything else I can do? I'm adding two cups at a time. I've had a pool for 10 years and never...

Can't lower PH in a green pool

I haven't gone to a pool store for chemicals in a loooong time, and it didn't occur to me to visit them for the acid until your post. I found it and will add some later today. thanks!

Can't lower PH in a green pool

I'm trying to open my green pool and my understanding is that I need to get PH into a recommended level but I can't get it down from 8.2. I've been testing with the TF test kit and located in NJ. These are my numbers: FC 0 (have not added in chlorine as I'm looking to lower my PH first) PH...

    Concrete under Diving board

I'm having my pool renovated and the contractor poured concrete to a depth of two feet to hold the diving board jig. I have a pool light and I'm concerned that the weight of the concrete will somehow damage the piping to the pool light. Should I be concerned?

    Prowler 930W disappointment

I never had an issue with the MX-8...it cleaned more and took less time to run and less time to set it up and put it away. Unfortunately, I'm stuck with this robot until it dies.

    Prowler 930W disappointment

I've had a Prowler 930w for a few months now and I am very disappointed. it doesn't have sufficient suction to clean the corners where the angled walls meet the floor on the deep end. I run it for 2 2 hour cycles and there's a lot of dirt left behind. this is with the pleated filter and...

    4 step pool ladder

I currently have a 3 step pool ladder, can I change it to a 4? I want to make sure that I'm not going to break anything if I go this route. What do people usually use and why? Also, is there a recommendation on whether to go with plastic steps or stainless steel?

    Are all sockets created equal?

I need to purchase 2 pairs of sockets for ladder and hand rail and the consensus seems to be to go with bronze. What I couldn't find here was which brand tu buy. I can them from woodgrip, sr smith or permatec. Does it matter? Is there a brand that is recommended or that I should stay away from?

LOOKING FOR A ROBOT CLEANER NEED ADVICE!

My first robot was a Zodiac MX-8, bought it for less than $400 (2011) and last year I could tell it needed a tuneup. I figured instead of tuning it up, I would use that money towards a prowler 930w, thinking it would be better, and its' not. I actually have to brush the two deep end corners...

    Does new filter cause foam?

It was a one time thing....stopped after about 20-30 seconds.
