Crystal clear pool until you get in it then it clouds up

I thought of that. Nope I can run the Polaris for hours and still crystal clear.

Crystal clear pool until you get in it then it clouds up

Sorry it took me so long to get back. Current check of numbers at dusk. Last time I added chlorine was last night about 9pm. FC : 7.4 CC : 0 PH : 7.6 TA : 90 CH : 320 CYA : 30 Borate : 50* Water temp : 86F * I only estimate the borate level to be 50. As of right now I have no way to test...

Crystal clear pool until you get in it then it clouds up

My pool stays crystal clear all the time. Well that is until people get in to swim then it clouds up after just a bit of splashing around. Not super cloudy but enough you can't see bottom on the deep end. After swimming is down, it take about 24-36 hours then it is crystal clear again. All my...

Sand Filter with DE added, now screwy pressures...

This may be unrelated, but, since I added a little DE to my sand filter I have noticed sand in my pool. This wasn't happening before hand. Now, the longer I run between putting the polaris cleaner in, the more sand I get in my pool. Could putting DE in have any affect on that? I wouldn't think...

Sand Filter with DE added, now screwy pressures...

Maybe I didn't explain that quite right. I did turn it back on and it has been back on for over 24 hours now and still only 18ish psi. Anyway, I guess I will just backwash and re-add some DE then see how it goes.

Sand Filter with DE added, now screwy pressures...

Ok, so I followed the rules for adding a small amount of DE to my sand filter. After and extremely thorough backwash, pressure was reading 16psi. I added small amounts of DE until pressure increased to 17psi. I kept checking pressure regularly throughout the evening until bed time. At 10pm...

    No junction box?

No need for a pic now I think. Had an electrician come look at it and you were right, it did have 1 code violation. The red wire I spoke about should actually be a white wire. It is a neutral wire, they just used the wrong color. Said it works just the same, but technically it should be replaced...

    No junction box?

Well from my understanding it was all installed by certified pool builder and electricians. I just said that the red may be a neutral. I don't know that for sure. So based off what Tim said, the white wire would connect to the neutral load spot on the GFCI breaker and the black wire to the...

    No junction box?

The light fixture is roughly about 50-60 (I did measure this part) foot from the panel box, which is about 4 feet above water level. So I would estimate about 70-80 of wire, since it isn't exactly straight line and raises 4 foot above ground level, to the breaker panel box. However, that is just...

    No junction box?

Purchased house in Dec, and upon viewing owner told me the pool light was disconnected because he didn't trust an electric light under water. He said the light worked but he had it disconnected. Thinking about reconnecting it. I have looked but can't find a junction box anywhere. I pulled the...

Final drain and refill completed over night. Here are my numbers: FC: 13.4 CC: .2 PH: 7.2 TA: 150 CH: 80 CYA: 80 CSI: -.57 Now I have to work on getting that TA down and the CH up. That's why my PH is 7.2 Gonna try and keep it down around 7-7.2 and airate until I can get the TA down to a more...

Well, I tested it with my Walmart HTH kit, with diluted water and it showed a CYA of 50. Since I diluted with a 1:1 ratio, I concluded that my CYA was 100. I then used one of the test strips I already had, just to see and it also depicted a CYA of 100. I then tested a third time with the k-2006...

Ok, I tested with my new Taylor K-2006 kit. FC: 8.5 CC: .5 PH: 7.4 TA: 160 CH: 90 CYA: 100 CSI: -0.2 CYA test was done with 50% pool water and 50% bottled water and then multiplied by 2. The CC test is questionable. After testing for FC, I added the drops of ??. It said if it turns red then CC...

Ok, so I just recently got a pool. Bought a new house about 6 months ago and have been messing with pool since about March time frame. At first I had no idea and followed the chemical companies suggestions. Pool wasn't bad, but wasn't good either. Seemed like I was always having to add something...
