So I am considering converting my old 36sf Nautilus DE filter to a Hayward s244s filter. Any thoughts. I have a 1.5 hp pump that is fairly new so I should be OK there but looking for advice on the filter. Thanks!

To be honest...not even sure. Its older for sure but it handles my existing filter. I think its a hayward...that the replacement basket it took.

Can i ask how long the shock process should take...it has been a few days now...and i cant seem to get past a milky greenish blue color. And now its raining so i think i am suffering a setback...

Yes sir...i have picked up a fair bit on my own...we bought this house with the pool about 3years ago...this is my 3rd season. We're in boston...so i only get 3 month of practice a year. Last question...how much de would you be adding to a 36 sf filter? The bag says 10 lbs but ive been told...

I think i know the answer to this but my filter keeps glogging after a couple of hours. Is tha fairly normal if i am trying to clear out the water. Also, what do it domovernight? Run it, recirc, off?? Thanks again!

Ok great. I actually added stabilizer today...so i am hopingto see those results in a few days. I am going to order a good test kit now...i have the bottled on...like the strips...not the best. I think my issue is i am not keeping the fc up long enough. On other question...should i be...

Sorry guys...i still need help. So i got my chemicals balanced today and the pool went to a cloudy blue...3 hours later...back to green. Is the algea growing back that fast?

I want to but i have a bigger issue...the area around the hole for the gauge is rusted. I am affraid that if I take thwe plug out, I will crack the filter cap. If I did, is it replacable? it is a nautilus filter I believe. SO just to follow up on the filtering. I took my filter apart...

Thank you for the very quick response. Unnfortunately, the preasure gauge on my filter was broken and the prev owen just capped it...so I am working only by sight. I am going to follow the shock instructions and I will post as to how it goes. Thanks!!!
